Sleepyhead for Mac help

Post by houndlover » Fri Apr 18, 2014 8:39 pm

So, I have read the help topics, I have used search...

I can not get Sleepyhead to read my SD Card at all. I have tried copying it to my desktop then having it read from there....no go. I just have a floating cube with yellow triangles and "no data".

I'm new to my Cpap and trying to figure out if it is going good, bad or ugly. I know what I feel like...but I also am a big data person.

I'll be figuring out how to do the whole signature thing while someone figures out what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

First we need to make sure you don't have a brick -- a no-data machine. We need exact make and model.

Which Mac version did you get?
and what is the model name or number of your machine?
If it's a Respironics machine...look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit number which probably has either DS or REF in front of the 3 digits.

That Mac version doesn't have the Patch file I don't think..and you need it with the 60 series machine.

Go here and get the unstable Mac build that is the newest (April 9 I think) and give it a try...it includes the Patch file so eliminates you having to install the Patch manually.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyh ... %20Builds/

Despite the unstable name...it is probably more stable and less buggy than the prior version.

AWESOME! Thank you so much...heavens...glad wasn't a patch file issue since I have not a clue what that means!

Now to start digesting data!

My AHI is never greater than 1.7 average...but my 95% leak rate is like 48?

Have to go to bed and work tomorrow but will be posting for help soon. I'm new to Apap and it isn't all that great.

I will be seeing you all again tomorrow!

Your machine reports Total Leak which is the mask's expected intentional leak/vent rate plus any excess leak..so don't be alarmed in that respect. Large leak territory is up around 80 to 90 (varies a little between machine, mask and pressures used) so you probably aren't spending much time, if any, up there.
You won't ever see a 0.0 leak number because of the inclusion of the vent rate in the numbers.

The 95% number just means you were at OR below that number for 95% of the time. People tend to forget the "or below" part of the definition (applies to pressure also when using auto adjusting pressures) and get all in a panic.

Mask vent rate increase with pressure increases too...the higher the pressure the higher the vent rate.

I suspect your leak line graph isn't bad at all and it might look worse than it really is because SleepyHead makes mountains out of molehills when it zooms in on the leak line.
