One more question - Voice changed on CPAP

Post by mommaw » Wed Feb 16, 2005 9:52 pm

I know this sounds crazy but since I have been on CPAP my voice has completely changed! I used to have a rather high pitched voice but now it is rather deep and very raspy. I also sound like I am talking through my nose. I don't like the "new me" and wonder if any of you have had the same problem?

Hey there Mommaw! I was wondering about the same thing! I feel like I am talking out of my nose.... make any sense? I feel like I am more nasalie or stuffed up. I would say normally I have a more normal voice, you know not a high pitch squeaky voice or a low manly voice, just a normal female voice.... but now... hmmm, I feel like I sound stuffed up, but no-one else seems to notice it so I figure it must be all in my head.

Don't know, but it is an interesting question!

Voice Change

When I use my cpap without the humidifier(I don't need a heated one) my voice gets deeper. But,goes back to normal with humidifier use.
Went somewhere for 4 days on a bus,and didn't want to bother with having a gallon of distilled water with me,so I went without the humidifier, which the RT said would be ok.

I don't suppose any of you are teen aged, and confusing adolescent voice changing with CPAP?

I only ask, because if we have under aged folks on here, I might have to tone back some of my references.

Liam, who only vaguely remembers what it was like to be under-age.
