EPR ? on S9 AutoSet™ cpap machine

Post by DyingOnMyFeet » Fri Apr 18, 2014 8:25 am

Hi can anyone tell me does the EPR function on the S9 AutoSet™ cpap machine effect a fixed cpap air pressure of say 12 cm - by this I mean if the EPR function is turned on will it lower the fixed cpap air pressure of 12 cm when you breath out during the night or will the fixed cpap air pressure of 12 cm stay the same during the night with the EPR fuction turned on - thanks a million for all the help on here - have a great day Peter from Australia.

Yes, it will lower on the expiration whatever you set the EPR to. From 1 to 3, but will return back to 12 when you breathe in.

EPR works the same way on either fixed cpap mode or auto adjusting pressure (APAP) mode. When it is turned on it will lower the pressure during exhale by whatever the setting choice happens to be.
It's a 1 cm reduction per setting...a setting of 1 lowers pressure during exhale by 1 cm...setting of 2 is a 2 cm reduction and a setting of 3 is a 3 cm reduction.

Sensors in the machine execute the changes as you breathe in and out.
You control the timing.

Thank you soooooooooooooo much pugsy and overflow for answering my questions concerning the EPR on the s9 auto cpap machine - I am most certainly going to buy one of these machines now that you have explained to me about the EPR function and also the fact that I can set my fixed cpap air pressure from the comfort of my own home no need to take machine to sleep tech to do it for me - thanks a million again - Peter from Australia.
