Re: DESPERATE NEED CPAP MASK

The one thing that I have never understood about this board and the thing that has kept me many times from posting questions if certain members attacking others for no reason. No one really knows if this lady had a real problem. What happened to trusting people. "Pugsy" comes on and as per her usua...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

Thank you, Frog! Interesting article. However, this morning the smell was much less pervasive. I don't get it but hopefully, by tomorrow it will be completely gone. The other thing I'm perplexed about is how much more comfortable I am with this machine instead of the SystemOne loaner I was using. No...

Re: FSA a way to get around DME?

FSA and other benefits always seem to cause some confusion. A new employee may enroll within those ninety regulatory days. Some companies actually do 30 or 60 days. However, please remember when you enroll that you are enrolling for the current year. Therefore, be careful what you decide to contribu...

Re: HBO Go and NetFlix Streaming - Movie Suggestions?

Do you like horror movies? Wolf Creek 2 is available to stream on Netflix....kind of amusing. Also any of the Hostel Movies. For a series, I would recommend "Walking Dead". Believe it or not, I also really enjoy good films.........recent good ones: Lone Survivor, Normal Heart (on HBO), American Hust...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

lol.....yes, there are a lot of jokesters that still call it "vantucky". Vansterdam fits better now that repression is gone here. I personally don't care what anyone calls it, I love Vancouver! Came here by way of San Diego and outside Philadelphia seventeen years ago and hope to stay here or elsewh...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

There may be something wrong with your humidifier re warm vs cold, someone else may know more about that machine, but if you're in a relatively humid location, the humidifier simply won't do much unless things dry out... it's a little like a thermostat heater not coming on in warm weather. I forgot...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

Thank you, Julie and Pugsy. Yes, I'm in SW WA just across the bridge from Portland, OR by the Columbia River. The weather has been pretty humid lately as we had quite a bit of rain for more than 1/2 the week. I did not realize, Julie, that it was like a thermostat. That makes sense. So, I will not w...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

Hi Pugsy and thank you! I checked the run hours and it is at 11 which seems about right considering I took a long nap today. When I woke up that smell was in the room again. I checked the water level and it had barely gone down but what I did notice is that it was cold. Would that have something to ...

Re: New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

Now I remember why I stopped coming here........great information but some people have a tendency to be rude or cranky. I beg your pardon for stating the wrong machine name. It's a SystemOne Remstar Auto which I'm sure you probably knew.

New Machine, Funny Smell.....???????

Hi all.......haven't been on here in quite a while! Yesterday I took delivery of my new (all mine not a rental) machine, which was not without it's challenges. My tech decided to ignore my requests for the machine I wanted and ordered the same one as the rental (System One AutoSet). Not a bad machin...

Re: Am I missing something, or do I just have a crappy doctor?

I have had sleep apnea for a very long time. 10 years, according to my wife. I have been officially diagnosed for the past 2 years or so. I have had a CPAP machine (after paying for 2 sleep studies), originally diagnosed to be at a pressure of 17, but always feel exhausted...and I do mean always. I...

Re: Got my machine today, pressure setting question

Hi Sharry, My doctor prescribed the same wide range as yours. In my case, Medicaid would not pay for another sleep study even though mine was seven years ago and this was the doctor's way to figure out what I needed in terms of prescription after not using Cpap for five years. Not everyone is distur...
