OT: M.G.V. sign over door in hospital

Post by STL Mark » Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:02 pm

While sitting and waiting with a relative in a hospital emergency room I saw something that got my attention.

Being a curious sort I asked some of the personnel what the M.G.V. Sign meant on a specific door way. No one seemed to have ever noticed it before and had no answer for me. Considering it is a label over 8 foot above the floor I doubt it was an accident. So solve my curiosity. What does this sign mean?

That us an interesting theory. The room looks like an equipment room of some sort. Not sure if it designates a type of equipment, a shelter designation, what kind of hazardous materials can be found there for fire personnel. After 5 hours staring at everything my mind wanders. I like your theory jencat, we could all use that.

I like the way that connects to the hospital environment. Seems like a plausible theory.

If it is O2 related, could be there for use by the fire dept.

While I really like all the suggestions so far it really stands for Medical Gas Valves.

It's where the distribution headers are and the valves to cut them off in case of emergency.
