Re: Questions about DreamStation Bricks
I would do that but I don't have one: I need someone who has one to take a look at their SD card directory. Here is a list of the Respironics DreamStation models of interest: DreamStation CPAP DreamStation CPAP DSX200S11 <-- This is the one DreamStation CPAP DSX200H11 DSX200H11C DSX200H11W with humi...

Re: Humidifier stopped working
If you are getting good therapy and are satisfied with your existing machine, then keep with Respironics when thinking about a replacement machine. Switching to a different manufacturer may change the way the machine "feels" when you use it. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference but a ...

Questions about DreamStation Bricks
From what I read about the DS200 DreamStation, it seems to qualify as a "Brick" CPAP. What I would like to know from someone who has one is: 1) Does it write anything on the SD card at all. I know it doesn't write any usable data regarding events and waveform information but does it update any of th...

Re: Dreamstation False Snoring Detection Problem
My DreamStation ASV reported excessive levels of VS values also. I sent it off to ACBio for inspection and/or repair. They are waiting parts. I switched to my backup machine - PR System One 960 and it's VS report hovers around 0.1 with the value frequently being 0.0. So, yours may be an equipment er...

Re: CPAP with Oxygen Causing Dry Mouth
on your supplementalO2 machine, do you have a bubbler installed. My experience indicates that O2 without a bubbler can contribute to a dry mouth.

Re: PSG shows increase in "spontaneous arousals" with CPAP?
As Pugsy noted, spontaneous arousals are difficult to diagnose. In my case, I wake up suddenly and fully about once a hour every night. The cause is a rare form of a really rare tumor - pheochromocytoma. Mine squirts a tiny amount of norepinephrine at these intervals which is the hormone your body u...

Re: pressures too high,need imput
It would be helpful if you could post your machine settings. In particular, the setting for RAMP. New users often have difficulty adjusting to their machines, especially if the pressures are as high as yours are. Setting the RAMP function to ON, the initial pressure to something like 7 or 8 cmH2O, a...

Re: CPAP-induced central sleep apnea?
CA events on a CPAP machine are reported differently than on a PSG report. The in-lab machine (Alice) sees them just the same but the person scoring the data takes into account the arousal state of the patient. All events that occur related to an arousal are not reported. So … if, as suggested, the ...

Re: CPAP with Oxygen Causing Dry Mouth
Does your Supplemental O2 machine have a humidification bubbler?
On my machine, not having a bubbler contributes to dry mouth.

New night on backup 960 ASV machine. VS = 0.3
Additional evidence that the DreamStation ASV sensor is failing.
Thanks for the uplifting comments.

The Importance of a Backup Machine
In a previous thread. I inquired about what the VS data report is actually measuring. So far, I haven't gotten any understandable description of what is going on. That said, the next phase starts. I have a travel system - a System One 960 that I have in a suitcase I just drop in the car and away we ...

Re: Using CPAP with central apnea
JNK +1 on the reference.
I have severe complex sleep apnea and, over time, the rate of CAs has declined. I think partly by how effective my ASV machine is in cutting off the start of a central. It sometimes shuts on down within a single breath cycle.

Re: Need more water capacity
I use an external humidifier in series with the internal one for my machine. In 8 hours, it uses about 16 oz. of water. If rainout is an issue for you, it gets a little more complicated.

Re: Dr. Dakota Chin Pillow - not in Business?
I just looked at one on the Walmart site and the total with taxes and shipping is just over $18.00 - that compared to a "standard" soft cervical collar from CVS or Walgreens where one is a available for less than $10.00. I need a new collar and this one looks like a cervical collar with the back cut...

Re: OSCAR data (SD cards needed)
Uploaded Respironics AutoSV BiPap 960 w integrated SpO2 adapter. The file structure is quite different than the 960s that don't have the SpO2 adapter. The main reason is that the SpO2 adapter includes its own SD slot and the machine uses that one rather than the one built into the original 960. Cons...
