I been always using the nasal mask resmed fx. It has been almost 10 months since the septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery and I cant feel much difference. I am still congested most of the time. And it is hard for me to use the resmed fx because I dont get enough air. I tried using the full face mask and I cant get used to. I have to use the nasal spray before going to bed, then after a couple hours I wake up and I have to apply more spray in order to keep my nasal passages clear.
5 weeks post op. The surgeon said that it was perfect job he did but I don't feel it. At first I thought it was just allergies but it has been months and I don't have much relief.. I am a mouth breather day and night. I don't feel my cpap therapy is as effective as it should be. I feel tired although I sleep 7-8 hours a day.
What should I do?
Septoplasty and turbinate reduction didn't help much.

You are doing the right thing by asking for help. Accept that the quick fix of surgery did not solve it. Now start looking at full face masks or total face masks that you can accept. Try your old full face mask again and tell us which one it is and what problems you are having. If you have insurance and a good DME, work with their respiratory therapist to explore how different masks may work with your face. What works for me probably will not be right for you. The process of finding the right mask can be a long one.king_alvaro wrote:What should I do?

If you are using an OTC nasal spray you could be having rebound effects from using it. These sprays (not saline sprays) can be highly addictive.

Agreed with gparr above - the sprays aren't supposed to be used for more than a few days and can have effects like you describe. Try some other solutions to try to get past the congestion - doing nasal rinses instead of the sprays, perhaps, or using breathe right strips or saline gel. If you can do that for a couple of weeks with no spray hopefully you'll start to notice a difference...
