Question about Mask Leakage

Post by GTOJim » Wed Feb 16, 2005 6:55 pm

How much leakage would be considered excessive?

I just got a new Auto C-flex with software. My average mask leak last night was 51.0, my Auto C-Flex increased one or two points (cm H20) in pressure for a little over two hours, due to lots of brief leaks and a couple of long leaks. I did leave the machine running when I got up to pee once during the night.

I use a full-face mask, an Ultra Mirage Series 2, previously tried a Ultra Mirage with the wide forehead support which leaked a lot using a regular CPAP, and a ComfortFull mask but gave up after 3 hours, I couldn’t get it to stop leaking.

I also use a PAPillow, which I like a lot.

The Remstar does readings in lpm (liters per minute) Most of the others seem to read in lps (liters per second) if it is under 60 it is ok from what I understand. (translates to 0.9 for 54)
