taking off mask
I wake up with my mask laying beside me in the bed. Finally set up a video camera and taped myself. Found that indeed I was pulling the mask off. I'm also looking for answers as to why. I'm into my third week of this.

Many of us have gone through the same thing.
Time will help.
The second time I told my doctor about it, he said, "Get over it. Keep it on" It worked. I did and from that night I just reufused to take it off. Shortly thereafter I started sleeping all night with the mask on. I regularly sleep 8 hours with it on.
Another suggestion would be to get another mask and change off. I have two, and when one becomes uncomfortable, I switch.
Good Luck

Taking masks off while sleeping
Hi,all
I have been on cpap since September, and I have taken my nose mask off twice.Woke up one night, and it was on the pillow beside me.
Then just the other night,I think I was dreaming about turning the machine off,and I had really taken my mask off.
I'm not having trouble with it,so I guess I'm just dreaming about taking it off,and then I actually do it.

Man, would it not have freaked you out to find out that Regis Philbin was coming into your room and taking it off of you in the night?Anonymous wrote:Finally set up a video camera and taped myself.
Liam, who thinks this headache may be affecting his sanity.

I wouldn't mind if a nice virile man came in to take off my mask....just make sure it's not Regis Philbin. .......With my luck, it would be Robin Williams...... but you know, Robin Williams is kind of cute in a quirky kind of way.
Linda -- who will now go back to my bipap machine and have scary dreams about Robin Williams and Regis Philbin.
