Hi,
I am just going to start using my APAP again after 3 years. Just had an overnight sleep study, I used to have 39 events per hour but the latest study said it done to 7.6 due to major sinus surgeries (turbinates removed) a few years ago. I just started reading my owners manual for my RESMED S8 Autoset II and the machine had been set to provide some Efficacy Data.

Can anyone tell me want these abbreviations mean:
PRESS (I am guessing pressure, but is it maximum or average?)
AHI (Apneas, but per hour or for the whole night?)
AI (cannot even guess)
HI (cannot even guess meaning, maybe high something).

Thanks Dave

Pressure but not maximum or average...instead it is 95% pressure meaning that for 95% of the night you were at OR below that pressure. People tend to forget the "or below" part of the definition.

Per hour average of the AI plus HI
DJL wrote:AI (cannot even guess)
Apnea Index...per hour average for obstructive apneas
DJL wrote:HI (cannot even guess meaning, maybe high something).
Hyponea Index..per hour average for Hyponeas

You might like to get the provider manual for your machine as it explains things in more detail.
You can request it here

Glossary of terms in the CPAP Wiki at the top of the main forum page if you don't know what Hyponeas and Apneas are.

Pugsy,
Thanks very much for your help, I just sent the email to get a copy of my CPAP setup manual.
