Changing DME's
I was informed today that because Cigna has Carecentrix handle their DME accounts that my DME is no longer "in network". So I gotta break a new one in... Hello Apria!

What's the big deal? You already have a good machine and Apria is good about getting replacement supplies on your insurance policy's schedule.

Tell them you are looking to change DME and need to find one who will waive the co-pay.
Many DMEs these days will go along. Don't worry, they won't starve!

If they're good, then no problem. I've just heard too many DME horror stories, I guess. I'll find out tomorrow when I call them for a new cushion. Now, Carecentrix, THEY might throw a wrench into the works. I go round and round with them 4X a year for my insulin pump supplies...
My plan pays 100% on Durable and supplies so I'm not worried about co-pays.

Re: Changing DME's
The biggest problem with Apria has been incorrect shipments and billing problems. If you watch this carefully you should be OK.John from Brookston wrote:ChicagoGranny wrote:What's the big deal? Apria has been excellent for me, you just need to keep an eye on their billing.... They "accidentally" double billed me once..

Re: Changing DME's
My "former" DME tried to get $19 out of me for the hose. I called their billing department and said they coded the hose wrong, there was no "home care" involved, and I was more than willing to show the Small Claims Court Judge a copy of my contract with Cigna that states "paid 100%".Denial Dave wrote:Apria has been excellent for me, you just need to keep an eye on their billing.... End of story.

To me, the best DME are the one's that say "yes sir" and very seldom say "no sir".
