Re: humidifier and water level

LSAT,
It's been raining a lot the past few days--which might explain why the water level in the humidifier didn't decrease.
Pugsy--thanks for all your diligent research and help!

Re: humidifier and water level

To LSAT and PUgsy, I usually have my humidifier on level 3 ( really don't know what the significance of these numbers are). I live in an extremely humid area. Pugsy: You said there's a 3-digit number underneath the blower unit. Is this it: Ref Remstar 150P. The humidifier my profile points to is NOT...

humidifier and water level

Hello.
The past 2 mornings, I've noticed my CPAP humidifier's water level hasn't decreased at all.
My CPAP appears to be working correctly--but the water level doesn't change. Should I be concerned--could I somehow be doing damage to my CPAP?
Please advise.
Thanks!

Re: CPAP and needing less sleep?

Cosmo, The physician who runs the Sleep Institute said this to me. I was shocked at the time (this was about 2 weeks ago) and I'm still shocked--but it's good to read your comments and everyone elses' (thanks to all who posted.) I thought perhaps I was oversensitive. But now I'm thinking twice about...

CPAP and needing less sleep?

Hi all. Since I've started using CPAP, I seem to need less sleep (about 6 hours worth.) My DME scolded me for not getting more sleep (it was an unpleasant visit). But I'm not tired during the day. I'm 45-years-old--is it normal for me to get "only" 6 hours sleep? I go to midnight and wake up at 6 a....

Re: CPAP insomina and trazadone

To 49er, Simplyme, Julie and Dreaming of Sleep, Thank you all for your posts. I appreciate everyone's help. Dreaming-of-sleep, I may email you from time-to-time if I find any helpful hints of beating CPAP insomina (and feel free to email me, if you come up with any medicine-free techniques of gettin...

CPAP insomina and trazadone

To my fellow hose heads: HAs anyone used trazadone for CPAP insomina-and if so are there any common side effects I should be aware of? I ask this after a confusing and discouraging visit to my DME where they suggested/prescribed trazadone. As a chronic migraine patient, I'm reluctant to take one mor...

compliance and insurance

Hello. I'd like to know if insurance companies withhold payment if you buy another CPAP (when you're old one dies of old age, that is) if they see your CPAP compliance reports? Do they get access to your CPAP digital compliance reports? I ask because many nights, I only sleep 5 or 6 hours--all of th...

Re: running out of water in humidifier

Pugsy,
I was surprised to hear my CPAP machine is a "brick." I definitely feel rested after using it. But since it's obvious it's not a top of the line model, what should I look for the next time I get a CPAP machine?

Re: running out of water in humidifier

To all: Thanks again for such thorough responses to my posts. Here are my responses to your questions/comments: One response was: "Sorry but that sounds like you're filling the tank without removing it from the humidifier. I suspect that's not what you mean, but that would be a really bad idea. on a...

Re: running out of water in humidifier

To DiverCTHunter, I fill the tank through the air hole on top--I guess I should be taking out the tank and filling it up that way though. Thanks to all who replied--I was mainly worried I did damage to this extremely expensive machine. Now I know how to avoid rainout and running out of water in the ...

Pugsy,
Could I have done any damage to my CPAP/humidifier by allowing it to run out of water?

Re: running out of water in humidifier

Pugsy, I'm using the Phillips Respironic Remstar System 1 CPAP. The humidifier has written on it "Remstar heated humidifier System 1." It also says: REF 1056215. and SN HO5833799. Is any of that information helpful? If not, I'm going to work now so I won't be able to re-post until I get back at 5 p....
