I travel a lot and when on business the standard CPAP machine is difficult to carry. I just purchased the Goodknight basic machine. It hasn't been delivered yet...tomorrow it should be here. Was this a good choice? I know it doesn't have the CFlex feature my home model has. Is this going to be a problem?

Travel size CPAP machine
Re: Travel size CPAP machine
can you swap out the larger one for the 420E. It's great, small, quiet, perfect. I

I travel weekly and purchased the GoodKnight 420E for just that reason. It is very lightweight and easy to take along. I generally pack the mask and hose in luggage and the rest in the carrying case. Everyone in security in domestic airports know what a CPAP is and I get no questions about it.
I did get the 420E because it is an auto unit as opposed to a straight CPAP. It automatically adjusts the pressure as needed during sleep. I personally would recommend that unit if it is possible for you to get it or exchange for it. I also ordered the new heated humidifier for this unit and am waiting to receive it. Hotel rooms are notoriously dry, especially during the winter.

I have the GoodKnight 420G (that's the basic model) and I like it. It is so quiet! However, if you are used to a machine with C-Flex, it could take a bit to get used to not having it. As others have suggested, if you can change to the 420E it would probably be more comfortable. But if you can't, then I'd just like to encourage you that, yes, one can use it fine.
As for the question of whether or not to bring a humidifier along with you on your trip, that's going to be a trade-off, I think. If you can manage without, then that's less equipment to have to cart along with you and worry about, not to mention the supply of distilled water for the humidifier! That's why I have decided not to take mine on my upcoming trip -- but we shall see how I manage without it. I figure that, yes, it will reduce my comfort not having the humidifier, but it won't be for that long, so...
