Anyone tried?????

Would like feedback on the Acclaim2 nasal mask. Looks like it would work stay on your head better than the Breeze.

Would also like to know people's comments on the Mirage Swift. Thanks...

I tried on both the F & P Aclaim and F&P Flexfit 405. The Aclaim rested on my upper lip whereas the Flexfit rested comfortably between my nose and upper lip. Also the Flexfit has a better swivel and is the newer of the two masks. I like the fit of the headgear very much. Just pull down on the straps of the headgear to get a snug fit. I found the foam in the elbow did not provide enough air flow and replaced it with a small piece of nylon net. You could also use gauze but my preference is nylon net. An added benefit is that you do not have to purchase foam replacements. However, when I used the foam, there were dark spots on the inside of the foam in the elbow. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

My experience has been that a pressure of 11 with the Flexfit equals a pressure of 7 with the Swift. My titrated pressure was 7.

Although I have the humidity on the heated humidifier turned up to a max of 5 on a Resmstar Pro w/cflex and use the heated hose, my nasal passages feel cold using the Swift. Our room temperature is 77. Does anyone have a clue as to why my nasal passages are feeling cold when using the Swift and does anyone else experience this?

A build-up of condensation?

Post by donnaG530 » Sun Feb 06, 2005 9:04 pm

I have used the ResMed Ultra Mirage mask for over a year now. I still hate it!! Yes, it does help me sleep better but, I wake to a wet face almost every night. I wake with the imprint of the mask around my nose. Has anyone else experienced this? I still can't get used to this mask. I've been reading up on the nasal type. Any suggestions on them?
