Has anyone tried Continuous Negative External Pressure therapy for sleep apnea? I'm curious how well it works.

Re: Smart card reader for REMStar Auto M-series w/ A-Flex
I am not sure what you mean by 3rd party apps. There is an available software from Mako (who makes the Infineer) to make it work on whatever Windows a person has but I don't call them apps. I call it driver software. Yeah, I guess I don't really know either, never having had one... I imagine a GUI ...

In case no one has the card reader laying around for free https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Respironics-Smart-Card-Reader-USB What kind of computer do you have? You will also need Encore Pro and it's Windows only... Thanks! I saw that. It's not worth $80 for me. I have a windows machine. If I'm not ...

Smart card reader for REMStar Auto M-series w/ A-Flex
I'm looking for a smart card reader for my old REMStar machine. Does anyone have one they'd be willing to part with? The thing is built like a tank and isn't going to die any time soon. My doctor no longer has the ability to read these older cards. I am considering getting a new machine, but this on...

Re: Help Finding Nasal Pillows for My Young Daughter
Wish it didn’t take so long for me to figure out, but I was perpetually congested to some degree along with other things, including having problems with dairy. Went wheat-free March of last year and that’s largely gone away, along with inflammation in general. It’s entirely possible to eat a nutrit...

Anit-snore device?
I just saw this article on a tech site (New Atlas, formerly Gizmag) about an anti-snoring device. It supposedly works by recognizing the sound of snoring and using vibrations to stimulate the vagus nerve, causing the throat muscles the tighten up and open the air way. This is their third version and...

Okay, fixed... sort of. Turns out I had an old account under a different user and email. Still, I should have been able to register. If, somehow it determine I was the same person, it should have given me an error message

Re: Newbie question about obstructed exhalation
Thanks for reopening this. I have the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's the same mechanism as my OSA. I can relax my throat and exhale and I get this slamming shut effect. CPAP is working for the apnea. My problem is blowing my nose. Until recently, I've been able to mitigate it by tucking my chin ...

Re: Treating sleep apnea without the mask
How would it stop muscles from collapsing on inhales? What would keep them from blowing completly out of your nose? The back-pressure works the same as positive pressure from a machine. The vents are supposed to let out enough air so as not to overcome the adhesive. I got a sample, tired one and ga...

Re: HME on my REMstat?
As I understand, the filter thingie has to be replaced FREQUENTLY. But, as it stands, this is the only way you can have humidification in a plane. Would that we could avoid breathing the nasty air--outside of riding in cargo. I'm not sure. I don't know how often Transcends recommend changing the fi...

Re: mask vent blowing keeps hubby awake....any tricks
I made a deflector out of packing tape. Its a flat piece bent into a U and taped down on either side of the vent. The top and bottom are open. The air flows straight out of the vent and is deflected up and down. I use a Mirage Quattro that has a single vent over the nose. Its a bit more noisy with i...

HME on my REMstat?
After reading about the Transcends CPAP machine, I've been wondering if it is possible to put an HME on my current hose and give up the humidifier. I searched didn't find anything specific for CPAP, but there were HMEs for anesthesia and respetory machines. Would it be ok to use one of these on a CP...
