Re: OT- What's for dinner?

Just this week was talking on FB with friends and 2 of them raved over their electric pressure cooker. I didn't even know there was such a thing. One said theirs is Oster brand. I had mentioned trying one of those FB tips that's been circulating about submerging a can of sweetened condensed milk in...

Re: A cautionary tale

Solution: don't let your dog lie near the intake! My Lab Emma could clear a high school gym during a basketball game. Even the state championship! She sleeps up on my bed near my feet. The system intake is about 18" lower, and up near my head on the opposite side of the bed. I *NEVER* smell her poot...

Re: A bit OT - My new dog and OSA...

Many thanks for the opinions and encouragement. Emma seems to have only one real problem - separation anxiety. The doggie day-care place is the only place I can leave her without her going nuts - even so she tries to keep me from leaving. 10 minutes later she's just fine, playing with the pack and a...

Re: A bit OT - My new dog and OSA...

On the way home from the shelter she was hanging her head out the window, and folks were honking and waving. One lady at an intersection pulled up and rolled her window down to tell us how cute she was. All black except for a white chest blaze and the last white inch of her tail. One ear flops, the ...

A bit OT - My new dog and OSA...

Hey, all - long time no post... Back in February, I lost my bestest buddy. We had him in great shape for his age (15) thanks to Rovera and the Chondritin (sp?) / whatever supplements. Then one night he started barfing and standing straight up but with his head hanging down. That, folks, is a bad thi...

6. Coffee May Decrease Your Risk of Dying

This is from the more scientific study? I'm sorry, but everybody faces a 100% chance of dying.

Re: Nose congestion

I use Afrin, but I dump it out into a bottle (surprise, it's a gel!) and water it down, then put it back in the pump bottle. Lately, I hit it about 20:1 with saline. I may use it 4 or 5 nights in a row, then go a week without with no rebound issues. Full strength, I can't even sleep after a snort - ...

Re: I don't get it!

I think the psych issue wins in many cases. I've had the feeling myself sometimes when congested - so I plugged my finger into a pulse-ox unit which reported O2 saturation levels in the mid to upper nineties. I quit worrying about it and felt fine.

Two weeks ago. I'm going to spend Thanksgiving day (plus 2 more) at Disneyland. The following week at an international convention in Vegas. Seemed like a GOOD IDEA!

Re: Good reason for having a humidifier!

Ya know, you really ought to get a cover for that grill. Once the snow gets icy, it's a bear to fire it up to grill some steaks in February. Winter is too darn long to go without a nice grilled steak, or a butterflyed leg-o-lamb. Sometimes just a nice couple of burgers! Especially burger treats like...

Re: Eye-Fi SD card with WiFi

I tried it, and you're correct - it won't work. Your blower can save data to it just fine - but their software is written to ignore the presence of any files other than .jpg or .mpg - unless you pay extra, then it will also do other digital photo formats. Your XPAP, however, does not save any files ...

Re: Losing my Eyebrows

If the mask isn't a contributor, thyroid could be. Whether hyper- or hypo-, thyroid imbalance can cause a surprising number of symptoms. Most on-line symptom-checkers, though, may really mis-evaluate you, as they pay a LOT of attention to how regular your menstrual cycle is, pregnancy, etc., all of ...

And I had a whole bunch of great rice recipes, too. And I had already ordered the gravy!!!! http://www.featurepics.com/FI/Thumb300/20080712/Convoy-802976.jpg Great pic for this one! Re: Can You Figure Out These Movie Titles?

Would the 64th person have to give you 9,223,372,036,854,776,000 (9 billion billion) grains of rice? Raymond That aspect of the offer popped into my head right away. It's like a lot of early math posers involving 1 penny on the 1st of the month, and doubling the value each day. By the time you reac...

Re: OT Summer Rain.

I lived in Central California for several years as a kid (6-10) where lightning storms are dry. I used to pile some inner tubes up on the front lawn and lie in them, watching the near-constant show we got from the electrical substation across the street. It's always amazed me how beautiful nature ge...
