Re: Harrassment
We've come along way baby! I started lurking about 6 years ago and posted sporadically for a while. After a few years, I come back on random occasions. In those days there was an induhvidual that would occasionally raise other's ire. In the last six months, whenever I look in. "end of alphabet" seem...

Re: Sinus Surgery
I did the U3P thing with turbinate reduction and fixed my deviated septum. I had to relearn how to breath. The level of effort required to breath prior to the surgery left me whistling though my nose afterward. I'm still a hose head.

Re: CPAP vs. UPPP for a young person
I did the UPPP, turbinate reduction & had my deviated septum fixed. AHI post surgery was no better. I still need CPAP. An interesting aside: the level of effort to breath nasally prior to surgery left me whistling though my nose post surgery. I literally had to re-learn how to breath without making ...

There is a new hose head in the family
My sister had her visit with the DME. I did attend. I wasn't impressed. Perhaps I intimidated her? Never discussed EPR, seemed most concerned with cleaning schedule and about replacing the consumables as soon as the insurance company would allow. On the good side, an S9 Autoset was issued! The Rx wa...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.
I've found one that's bluetooth enabled. Think I'm going to order one and try to get it to work in an iPhone app, at the same time as the wireless cpap data is collected. If you need one they run about $40 on fleabay (drop shipped from China). Make sure it has a usb port and can log data. When I wa...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.
My sister finally had her sleep study. It was scheduled to be a split study and they did hook her up. This lab has some policies I've not read about before. Shower and shampoo before arriving. Don't wake while in deep sleep even if shift is up. A shower is available after the study. A coupon for a d...

Re: How Many Of Us Actually LIKE PAP ?
Add me to the list of likers. Although I am a lover, I don't love XPAP. Masking up is not that much of a chore. Filling the humidifier every night and having distilled water on hand isn't that difficult. Dealing with the hose is not so much fun. Breathing filter air is great, I want to do it all day...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.
My sister actually had an appointment for a sleep study years ago. Between making the appointment and the appointed date her insurance was terminated due to her husband's employer cutting back on benefits while the company slowly died. Out of pocket expense prevented it. He has a new job and better ...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.
I never professed maven status. I am a professed hack. Why does that bother you Avi? Here is an excerpt from my own sleep study. Note the minimum O2 levels during hypopneas. 59.5 is lower than 60 unless the rules of math have changed and I wasn't informed. My study was done at Lahey Teaching Hospita...
