Re: Review of CPAP machines and Masks
Look for a data capable machine. Beyond that they are all pretty much the same. Mask wise, it's whatever works for you. Everyone has a different comfort level and requirements. Cpap.com has reviews of machines and masks. If you have a dme in my experience, they are all kinda brand specific. Like whe...

Re: Can We really go without REM sleep?
Living with a narcoleptic I can say from experience that living without rem sleep isn't the worst in the world. Yeah it sucks, but the sleep cycles are key. Hubby enters rem in 30 seconds. The man spends most of his sleep in rem and he's still utterly exhausted. Now when your body cycles sleep like ...

Re: mirage fx too small for nose
I had to trade my swift for a nasal. The pillows seemed to close up in my nose and I couldn't breathe at all. If you don't toss alot I noticed just barely setting them on my lip and not tightening the straps toooooo tight, I could breathe fairly well. But I'm a tossed and hubby's a smuggler who hasn...

Re: S9 ResMed changes not saved
Easy fix, lock the sd card when you pull data. The machines gonna erase old data so why wipe and reload?

Re: I want to see the run hours of a resmed s9?
I have an s9 elite so hopefully this should help. When you go to the info screen to see previous nights numbers, turn the knob right 1 click. This brings up history. Push in the knob and this let's you change the period to as high as 1 year and gives you used hours. Hope that helps. edit: just thoug...

Water in mask and hose??
Woke up the other day and thought my face was sweating from my mask. When I took it off, i had a small pool of water in my mask, we're talking like maybe 1/8 of a cup, but enough to kinda freak me out a lil. Then I hung my hose up to dry and more water came out. I'm thinking the tubing isn't keeping...

Re: Did you have any of these symptoms before diagnosis?
Well said, Midnight. No online discourse can replace your physician. No strangers' guesstimates can replace lab tests. We may have similar situations and share our experiences--and opinions--(for what they are worth). definately agree. I was only looking for shared experiences and/or opinions. i wo...

Re: Did you have any of these symptoms before diagnosis?
Googling some things led to a study by a few different places who found a link in c-reactive protein levels and OSA... Apparently thats one of the side effects of our bodys fight or flight reaction when we stop breathing. Thru looking thru everything closer with a fine tooth comb, if you think about...

Did you have any of these symptoms before diagnosis?
And did they go away after treatment? Docs have me on a 4 month hold before they will proceed with anything else. They are seeing what will resolve itself but I'm just curious... Anyone have any of this? Loss of grip in hands, upwards of 46% in one side and 38% in the other. Now my arms get tired qu...

Re: nose pillow irritation
Try to find a saline gel... Ayr sells one. It helped when I kept getting pimple like sores right inside my nose. Someone once suggested ky, but the ayr was cheaper and I didn't have to deal with looks from my husband lol.

Re: Maybe y'all can help with this one?
WHY is he not taking the daytime medication? What reason does he give for that? What's his reason for not taking Xyrem? And what's with this: He will come home after full day of work... Stay up all night... And then drive to work again. That doesn't sound like someone who is excessively sleepy... A...

Re: Maybe y'all can help with this one?
I was kinda hoping y'all would say that... I'm raising 3 kids pretty much by myself already and adding a 28 year old just isn't in the mix. I've done absolutely everything I could think of, and in the end, you can't help someone who doesn't want the help. I told our doc hoping that he could help me,...

Maybe y'all can help with this one?
Long story short. Don't have anywhere else to turn and I figure OSA and narcos have a lil in common being sleep related issues so maybe y'all can help me out with this issue as I don't have anyone else to ask... The narcolepsy forums are a joke... So today was my first appt with my sleep doc since b...

Re: What exactly is a troll?
My only question when it comes to troll here: Who wakes up and decides "hey I'm gonna read a few posts on the cpap forum so I can try to sound like know what I'm talking about and post a thread to make a complete a$$ of myself!".... I mean I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to be... Who picks the c...
