Re: can u relate.....

This New Years was the first one in MANY years gone by that I actually stayed up and it was with no effort. I am usually asleep when the ball drops.

Re: Great experience with chin strap

I have been wondering: I am a mouth breather and use a full face mask; if a chin strap would help me in any way. I do swallow some air, I can tell because I have some bloating and gas issues since starting c pap.

Re: Post Traumatic Stress from Apnea

I have been getting anxiety attacks since my early twenties. I think that I have had sleep apnea for at least that long, probably longer. I have been wondering if there is a connection between the sleep apnea and my anxiety attacks.

Re: (Newbie) Why does the AHI lower each day ??

I was just looking at my last few weeks on my sleepy head and boy my numbers are really all over the place. One night I had an AHI of 1. something , then several night later it could be in the 3 or 4 range and one night I had in the 8 range and back and forth. It could be positional for me or if I h...

Re: Titration Study vs APAP Data

At my sleep study I felt like I didn't go into a deep sleep and they gave me a moderate sleep apnea diagnosis, at a 10 pressure setting. The 10 did not even get me out of the teens at home. I had to keep upping it little by little until I got my index to come down and for the most part lower my obst...

Re: HOW TO: Disable Speaker on Philips Respironics System One

I have the same machine and have been in the clinicians set up and have not noticed silent mode. Next time I go in, I will check for it. The beep doesn't bother me and when my husband is sleeping he doesn't hear much, so that's a good thing. I think they should have a way for this to be an option fo...

Re: New to cpap (2 weeks)

Hello Cindjo717, Sorry to hear your having mask troubles. Only other hose heads would feel sympathy and and see humor at the same time (mask farting, whistling, burping). Somewhere today I saw someone here suggest adjusting masks while laying in bed, with the machine on and at or near your higher p...

Re: New to cpap (2 weeks)

I could not use nasal pillow full face mask. The pillows would NOT stay put in my nostrils, they kept popping out. I really liked that mask too. I need a full face because I am a big mouth breather. I DO snore when I don't use c-pap. That is what made me go get a sleep study. My husband kept on poki...

Re: New to cpap (2 weeks)

Hi Daisy I am fairly new, been on c-pap since mid Oct. I have the same machine as you do. If you highlight setup then simultaneously hold down ramp button and start button until you hear a few beeps. Then you're in and just go to setup if you're not already highlighted on there. Everything that I kn...

Re: That "I can't breathe" feeling

I have to admit that once in a while I get that panicky feeling like I am being suffocated when I first put on my mask. I have battled anxiety attacks in the past . This mask thing with the air pressure really seems to strike a nerve for me. Most times I am ok. I recently tried to up my pressure a l...

Re: Possibly losing data on cpap

I have the PR System One and I noticed on my Sleepy Head chart just the other day that I have absolutely no data from Dec. 10th -Dec. 20th. as if I never used it at all. I use it every night too.. Weird that.

Re: What symptoms do you have?

I had exceptionally loud snoring, a lot of irregular heartbeat episodes, anxiety, lack of concentration, memory was very bad, focus was not good, excessive sleepiness, deep need for sleep in mid afternoons. Most all of these symptoms are gone or almost gone. Still a work in progress, but much better ...
