Re: Help for a Neighbor
Is he sleeping decently with the machine and mask on? Or is he having difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. If he is having trouble sleeping then a lot of those flagged events could maybe related to awake/semi awake breathing irregularities. His minimum pressure may be too low to adequate...

Help for a Neighbor
My neighbor Larry is 75 years old, went through a sleep study and even though he mustered about an hour or so of actual sleep in his sleep study, they did determine he has OSA. The titration study was similar, he had a hard time sleeping. The Doctor prescribed him a Respironics APAP set between 5 an...

Re: Pulse/Ox to the rescue.
Earlier this year my In-Laws were visiting and I convinced my Mother In Law to wear my Oximeter for the night as I have heard her take naps on the couch as well as numerous health problems. The next morning I showed them the results (very low oxygen levels), she did her sleep study, is now using her...

Re: New User has question
I have the same issue no matter how high I turn the humidifier, I normally wake up a couple times a night and drink a glass of water.

I guess so.Stormynights wrote:If that is the only thing they added there is no reason I can see for a change in your AHI. It must be an alien visit..
Can anyone look at my oximetry results above? I am curious if the added oxygen is really necessary?

Re: Supplemental Oxygen??
A normal 2.0 night like Wednesday, my AHI broke down to .56 Hypopnea, .56 Obstructive, & .89 Clear Airway. Here is my 5.39 AHI from last night, dont look at the top left as I took a short nap yesterday which is not part of the selected 5.39 from overnight: http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy151/fo...

Supplemental Oxygen??
I was doing just fine for roughly a year on my APAP, if some of you remember I was diagnosed with secondary polycythemia awhile back as my hemoglobin levels were critically high, after numerous tests they figured out I had sleep apnea after oximetry tests showed desaturations down to 63%. My hemoglo...

Re: Lack of Communication, Doctor & DME
I have the 450P. The 30 days isn't a trial period as in use it to see if you want a better one. According to the Phillips rep I spoke to the machine was designed to test your tolerance and desired pressure for two weeks to 30 days. The technician programs the device to shut off autopressure after t...

Re: Leaks, leaks and more stinking leaks and AHI
For the last two weeks or so my leaks has gone up. I have refitted the mask, even watch the video on the Resmed site on how to do it. Changed the seal. Used a Remzzer. Nothing really seems to work. Not sure why the leaks has increased. Of course the AHI has increased too. High might be around 10 no...

Re: nose bridge pain
I too have the same problem, tried the Taming the Mirage Quattro but still get a sore nose bridge. Now I just put a band aid on the bridge of my nose, then I put some NexCare Waterproof Tape for a cushion over the band aid, and so far this seems to work and keep the bridge of my nose from getting ra...
