Re: UARS

UA can become full OSA but that generally results from the throat collapsing not the UA congestion Upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) is NOT caused by congestion in the nasal passages. UARS is caused by frequent narrowing (i.e. partial collapse) of the upper airway that leads to EEG arousals d...

Re: AHI has doubled

I just replaced the cushion on my Simplus mask. I expected to be able to sleep longer now without all the leaks caused by a cushion that needed to be replaced. That happened. I went from 4 hours a night to about 7. However, in the process my AHI has doubled...from 5-6 nightly to 16-17. Any thoughts...

Re: Trying Hard Not to Commit Suicide

Oh my gosh. I thought I was the only one. I can barely hold down a job. I'm at least an hour late every day. I could sleep 11 hours and still not feel rested. I'm on the exact same machine as you. If you want our help, you have to give us a lot more to go on. ChicagoGranny's questions are the start...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

It is written in a standard scripting language, but I've forgotten which. (If you want, you can download the source code and examine it. JediMark doesn't hide the source.) it is written in c++, which is not a "scripting" language but (one of) THE (standard) language(s). [/quote]Thanks for this corr...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

You can always get ResScan if you can't get SH to work. ======= thanks i was going to install rescan in the morning i can always dl a dll or other file if that is all that is needed You may find ResScan runs even slower than SleepyHead, particularly on an XP. Way back in 2010 when I was just starti...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

xp pro sp3 is solid the problem with 8 and 10 is the TOS say that ALL YOUR (DATA)BASE ARE BELONG TO US and they have the right to dl anything and use it I know all about how shitty Win 8 and Win 10 are. But Win 7 is pretty solid. Hubby refuses to update any of our Win 7 machines, and I have no obje...

Re: Respiratory rate

Here is last night's SleepyHead: http://imgur.com/a/AZ4xB A little more glorious and a little less failure, which was just what I needed. I awoke much earlier than I'd prefer and couldn't get back to sleep, though the only other times I can recall being awake were those times when I switched the ma...

Re: installing and using sleepyhead

Re: Final Report - sort of

I have the full report now. Don't really have OSA - 1 mixed episode and 3 hypopneas. However, in 6 hours 172 arousals and 22 wakenings. No REM while supine ( RDI 31 per hour ), PLMS 20 per hour, PVCs, tachycardias, and arrhythmias. SpO2 to 85% and longest hypopeic episode 29.5 seconds. That RDI = 3...

Re: Final Report - sort of

The severity of the apnea (in terms of the AHI) is not always reflected in the severity of the symptoms. My diagnostic AHI was around 23, but I never had the daytime sleepies issues so many people have. My husband's diagnostic AHI was around 10, and he was falling asleep during the daytime and even...

Re: Respiratory rate

Fenelon, Here are my ideas of what you are probably going to have to do in order to find a happy balance between keeping the pressure low enough to keep the aerophagia at a manageable level and high enough to deal with those clusters of events as well as the insomnia issues on the nights when it's a...

Re: Respiratory rate

http://imgur.com/a/3ncuv 'Glorious Failure' is how I would describe last night. Centrals all but disappeared but my OA score was the second highest it has been (after the previous day), and at least twice what it has been averaging. I did have a less restless night and fell asleep much quicker - bu...

Re: Newbie Seeking Path Forward

So, I stopped by my original doctor's office today and asked for a copy of my sleep study. As it turns out I've never actually had a full in-patient sleep study. I had the home study which is what diagnosed severe sleep apnea with both central & obstructive apnea. The doctor said the home study usua...

Re: Cpap help

I am talking about getting that red face 100% all of the time, even when I am trying to adjust my pillows. I can only get a good read if I cover the air vents and I know that isn't good. I do have someone coming over to check things out. Thank you all so much for trying to help me. Wish me well. Ha...
