Re: Really would like more info. on Clear Airway Apnea

Hi Chuck. I too had about two thirds centrals and one third OA with the S9 Resmed Auto. My AHI was around 12-15 and my doctor also said that I was being "treated" I am in Australia, so our system is a bit different to yours. I was very frustrated and made a lot of noise. Wrote emails to everyone ass...

Re: Newbie here, with a whistling hose!!

I had a similar problem with my respironics hose. A forum member suggested I sleep under the blankets and that stopped the whistling till I could buy a heated hose, which stopped all the whistling immediately. I also have my hose over my bedhead as I am a side sleeper and move from side to side duri...

Re: OT: My dog had a Seizure tonight

I once saw a program on TV and they said that the Cavalier King Charles is prone to seizures purely because they have been overbred to have smaller and smaller heads and the brain no longer fits and it causes seizures. Very sad!

Help! need tips! whistling hose keeps me awake!

Hope someone can give me advice. My machine's hose keeps me awake...it whistles and wakes me up regularly. I am on an ASV respironics with heated humidifier and as the hose is not heated, the water condensation gets up the hose as well...sigh...I just want to SLEEP! I have a hose cosy. Humidifier se...

Re: new ASV user-questions

Thanks John. So what exactly are hypopneas? My settings are at 10 with 7 exhale. Does that sound reasonable? and when you say it should be increased, you mean exhale should be tried with 8?

new ASV user-questions

Hi, I was on S9 Resmed Auto and had residual AHI of around 12-19 with around two thirds CA, and the rest OA. I am on a trial with a PR ASV auto and I don't have any detailed information as I don't have a card reader yet, but as I had to go to the Hospital today for another reason I asked for a reado...

Re: Snr Sleep physician says AHI of 10-15 acceptable

Generally speaking, a person on CPAP strives for an AHI of less than 5. However, you mentioned central sleep apnea. It sounds like your doctor is considering the facts of your particular situation: He is weighing the effects of too much pressure (more CAs, fewer OAs) against too little pressure (few...

Maybe going to sleep feeling angry helps...My AHI was down to 6.74 last night.. best in months! Maybe we can insult eachother before we go to sleep

Re: Snr Sleep physician says AHI of 10-15 acceptable

You know here in the US....an AHI of 10 to 15 WITHOUT a machine will get you a diagnosis that will get you a machine. It is still diagnostic for sleep apnea even at those numbers. They don't start saying "no sleep apnea" until they see AHI below 10. I know and it would be the same here! doesn't mak...

Re: Snr Sleep physician says AHI of 10-15 acceptable

[quote="Pugsy"]Since OP has this out here now on the forum. Her centrals may be pressure induced or at least worsened with pressure. Home study initially so no in lab sleep study without a machine report to rely on. Her recent sleep study was with her existing machine..S9 Autoset. At original Rx set...
