Re: Nasal Pillow help please!

Thank you all for the tips. I wound a bit of dental floss around the tips last night to bring them closer together and that did the trick! No more slipping out. I also had bought a Zeo yesterday so the headband from it actually helped hold everything in place wonderfully! I had my best night's sleep...

Re: Nasal Pillow help please!

Thank you all! Hopefully tonight I will get a better fit. I was up until after 3 AM fiddling with it again last night. I still think I had it too tight because I couldn't feel any air pressure. Arrrggghhhh!! Janknitz - thanks for the link to fitting guide! I have one more question - is there any kin...

Nasal Pillow help please!

I am hoping someone can help me here. I just switched to a nasal pillow (the one below) and I am not sure how to tell if it is on right or I have the right size. It seems like it is fine when I am sitting up or looking in the mirror - pillows just inside the nostrils and the air seems to be going ri...

Hi! I am new here too and the forum helped me find the great software for checking my data. It is at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead.

Re: New User in Baltimore

Welcome! I am pretty new here too and had to get a new mask today for a better fit. You might have to try a few before you find one that works well for you. If you look up your mask on CPAP.com there might be videos on how to fit it properly. The one for my mask was really helpful because I kept thi...

Re: What is your machine sitting on?

I don't have room on my nightstand and it is higher than my bed so it wouldn't work anyway. I dug up an exercise step stool thing out of my closet and have been using it. It works perfectly and is also plastic so I don't have to worry about ruining wood if it gets wet somehow.

Re: DME and Mask fitting

So sorry about your experience. It's so d**n frustrating to have everyone tell us how "life threatening" sleep apnea is and then them not return a phone call! I got the same brush off yesterday. But today I was persistent and finally got someone to meet me up at the DME. I hauled everything up there...

Re: Will data show if mask isn't fitting well?

Thanks Mary! I was able to get someone at my DME to meet me up at their place today and let me try a nasal pillow. I could tell immediately the difference. I was getting much more air pressure with it going directly in my nose. With the C Flex+ on, it wasn't uncomfortable exhaling at all. And it fee...

Will data show if mask isn't fitting well?

I am in a really cranky mood this morning after another lousy night. I spent the whole time trying to get my mask to fit right though it probably is impossible because I think it just doesn't fit my face. I got this mask because it was only the second one the sleep lab tried on me. The first was a n...

Re: No respiratory events but still lousy sleep

Thanks for all the nice detailed answers. I think I will wait a while before getting a Zeo - right now it would probably just add more anxiety as one more thing for me to analyze to death. I had a pretty decent night last night (finally) without all the usual anxiety about whether or not I would get...

Re: How long does it usually take to try a new mask?

Thanks for the replies. I'd really rather not have to wait until Monday to even get an appointment so I think I will try walking in. What do I need to take with me? Do I need to take my whole setup or just the old mask?

How long does it usually take to try a new mask?

I just finished my first week on CPAP and although I am breathing better than I was, I discovered there are several things about my mask that I don't like and I would like to try a new one. My DME made it sound like that was a really simple thing to do whenever I wanted and they would be HAPPY to he...

Re: No respiratory events but still lousy sleep

I've been getting better (but still not great) sleep for the past couple of nights. My AHI is around 1.6 so I guess that is good, but they are sometimes clustered pretty close together so for those time periods my AHI is probably a lot higher (this is consistent with my original study where I had a ...

Re: first night was ok

Welcome! I am pretty new here too (only 5 nights with the CPAP so far.) Everyone here has been very helpful. I have a lot of problems with stuffy nose so I got a Rx nasal spray to use before I got my CPAP because I knew it would be an issue. I also take Mucinex (over the counter) before bed to clear...

Re: First appt with sleep Dr. after starting CPAP

How cool is that!! I had no idea there was this technology for home. I'll have to check it out. Thanks! I thought it would be years, even decades before something like that would be available.
