Thanks hosecrusher,
I considered trying it, but felt I would panic if I couldn't breathe out easily! Perhaps I should give it a go.

CPAP battery-operated - multi-night camping - carrying all
Hi everyone Several of us would like to hear from everyone who has battery operated CPAP and carries it all in a backpack (for camping whilst bushwalking etc. for several nights). We would like to know about machines, quality/effectiveness, hours of sleep per battery, all-up weight. And more! I am ...

Re: CPAP and camping
Hi jacko I am also trying to find a small/lightweight battery CPAP - and am trying to get opinions on Somnetics (brand) Transcend II (Model) . It seems to cost $450 US with postage between $50 and $80 to Australia . It seems it should last for four to five 8 hour nights on a 15 amp hour battery (I ...

Re: How do I know if I don't need CPAP anymore?
"I travel a lot, and while I have a fun little travel CPAP , would still be nice to not have to take it at all." [/color] Hello glassjules Could you please name your travel CPAP machine and give some detail about it? (Weight, battery requirements etc.). I am desperately looking for information on o...

Re: New Guy w/ Questions
Ditto - feeling a bit sleepy again and headaches are returning, though nowhere near as bad. Booked in to have my machine checked in a month - for the first time ever (ie in 5 years). I have actually never had it set up - I just "plug 'n played" for all that time!

Re: Normal CPAP scan of person without Apnea/Hypopnea
Thanks for the great info everyone. That is what I meant. So I think my AHI is now even below the average for the population.
I think each country's health system has a different definition of what they will consider significant and what payment they will assist with.

Re: Normal CPAP scan of person without Apnea/Hypopnea
jamiswolf No I started with an AHI of 15 (moderate) 5 yrs ago and constant headaches, migraines, low Sat O2. So CPAP has lowered AHI and I assume raised Sat O2, because headaches and migraines are way less frequent now. Though I do think I hold my breath at times through the night, as I often catch ...

Normal CPAP scan of person without Apnea/Hypopnea
Hi.
Just wondering what the sleep scan of a person without Apnea/Hypopnea looks like? I gather a normal sleep scan AHI is 5 events. So do you reckon that I would be right in assuming it would look like my scan (which shows AHI 0.7 to 1.4 events), but with 5?

Re: Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation System
Has anyone had any experience with the HNSS? Hello debtheveg A friend in Sydney has told me about the study, so I thought I might ring up tomorrow. Looks like I wouldn't be suitable as my AHI was only moderate 15 (mostly hypopnea) and is now 1.4 on CPAP. I would in any case me most interested to he...

Thanks, GrantT
I will be interested to find those references and read them. The specialist's comments worried me, but I didn't think it made sense.

Re: Reduction in Blood Pressure?
I have been on CPAP for 5 years due to almost constant headaches and migraines - causing low Saturated Oxygen 82% (minimal snoring). But I recently developed high BP 140/95. Following 24 hr BP monitor the specialist said it is known that CPAP actually raises your BP at night . But as it is also high...
