RES-MED?

Post by bradbelote » Thu Jan 19, 2006 5:33 pm

Completed a cpap sleep study last night.. my mask was comfortable.. tech says I was breathing and NOT snoring.

The DME guy wanted to get me on a Res Med...but I wanted to consult the board for a reputation before biting.

ResMed is one of the top three mfgs and the best mask seller. If the DME guy is giving you and ResMed S8 with a integrated heated humidifier you will be doing great. See if he will also let you try the ResMed Mirage Activa and the Mirage Swift. This would give you a very good set-up to work on getting comfortable.

Sincerely,

Hi

You can see from my equipment at the bottom of this post that I have the Resmed S8 autoset spirit and heated humidifier H3i - it is a brilliant machine, very well made, small, good for travelling and treats me really well. Before that I had the Resmed S7 autoset spirit (still have it actually) and that was/is also a great machine. YOu don't have to worry about Resmed - they are one of the best.

I too like ResMed products. I have an AutoSpirit and use their Activa and Ultra Mirage masks. If you are looking at the Mirage series masks, I would get the standard mirage and not the Ultra. I wish Resmed had included the best features of each of the mirage masks into one package, then they would have had a great mirage mask. Another machine that many people do not know about is the DevilBiss. My old machine is now nine years old. It is the DevilBiss auto, and it is an excellent machine, as my brother is still using it.
