Resmed S8 II as new machine?
The dme has a resmed s8 II autoset for me as my "outright purchase" machine...reached the insurance deductible this year so they will buy it for me. From reading through posts on this site I get the idea that even though this is an apap, resmed has made it impossible for people other than the sleep ...

Since prednisone was part of my chemo treatment (which I finished in April), I've put on more weight again....I thought I'd never see the 200s again and was so happy it was going down....this morning its back to 220. I was eating a well balanced diet .... healthy, no sugars....mostly veggies, fruits...

Re: Need advice for new adjustment w/swift OW!
Thanks so much! I briefly tried on the swift fx for her and it seemed like the back strap would take some getting used to. I have the swift lt at home. I slept for much of the night w/the swift lt for her but it felt tight. The best part was I did feel more rested than I do at home and that there we...

Need advice for new adjustment w/swift OW!
I used the nasal aire prong system for 3 yrs and felt refreshed and rested in the mornings. Developed cll (leukemia) and found that the tubing for the nasal aire hurt the lymph nodes that had swollen. No longer swollen but still don't want to have the tubing. So... Moved to the Swift nasal pillows. ...

Re: Who all has cut their nasal prongs on the Hybrid?
Have any of you Hybrid users tried the Liberty? Wondering how they compare. My DME carries Liberty but not Hybrid and he said they don't work on people who don't have enough "length" between their nose and lip....what do you think? I'm thinking it would be a good choice for the times mouth breathing...

Re: machine replacement expectations?
You are too funny...horsepuckies????? I'll be careful w/my next steps. LOL. Right now I not only haven't looked for a sleep doc since mine no longer practices in the area, but not a primary care either.... I do have a hematologist who I very much appreciate, but this is definitely not his field of e...

Re: machine replacement expectations?
My sleep doctor is no longer practicing in the area but from what the dme said, he had written a "lifetime script" Can't remember for sure the lingo but I think thats what he called it. I did have a sleep study some months back to see if I still needed the cpap therapy and I did. There are some new ...

Re: sneezing and running nose
The news is full of how high the pollen count is this spring. I use a neti pot to wash out my nosrils when I notice and it is so effective that I no longer have problems w/dry itchy eyes either. I've noticed that since using the autopap (humidifier too) I tend to have less problems seasonally than I...

Re: machine replacement expectations?
We have reached our deductible because of other medical concerns so that is one reason I'm wondering about replacement. This year will be the 5 yr mark. Thinking it may be time to ask Anthem about this directly and then talk to the dme. Thanks, Terry

Re: donation of cpap related equipment

machine replacement expectations?
Just wondering what the normal protocal is. Since we normally are able to order new masks/humdifiers/hoses when a certain number of months pass, is it same for machine replacement or does that only happen when a machine actually breaks down? Last time I was at the dme's for mask replacement, I was t...
