rainout help

Post by RM » Tue Nov 08, 2005 6:29 am

Hello all,
I was recently switched to a devillbis bipap RPM and a fisher-paykel heated humidifer.... pressure at 14/10. I used to use a polaris CPAP w/heat... no problems with rainout ever. The problem I'm having is every night I am getting terrible rainout!!! The humidifer is set at its lowest setting, which make the rainout less, but when I turn the unit to 1 or above forget it. I have it set up correctly, and the unit is below the level of myself and the bed. I'm wondering if the devillbis heated humidifier made for the unit would make a difference? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
RM

The only thing I have found that completely eliminates rainout is the SleepZone Heated CPAP Tube (affectionately dubbed the "Aussie Heated Hose" by members of this forum). If you use the search function at the top of this page, you'll find tons and tons of info regarding this issue. Also, there are a few threads discussing the Aussie Heated Hose currently running on the first page of this forum.

Here's a link to the SleepZone website:

Hi RM,
Guest is correct, the only thing that I found that helped my rainout was the Aussie Heated Hose. Sleepzone is very quick in delivery too, I think I received mine in about 7 days from when I ordered.

Hope that helps!
Teri

Because I am cheap,,,, and was off of work for a while because of foot surgery,, I went shopping on e-bay and found hose covers for ~$9,,, I bought two,, don't ask me why,,, and it works great,, and the price was right.

Not only did the Aussie heated hose cure my rainout, but even my wife noticed that I'm sleeping more soundly. In fact, so sound that for the first few nights I wasn't moving and would wake up with my back in spasms when I tried to move! ,
