SQL Server?

Post by sleepyinsunnyvale » Wed Oct 26, 2005 7:34 am

I am about to order the Encore Software and have been reading the recent posts about it.
I'm not clear about the MS SQL Server program. Does it install with the OS (Win 2000, in my case) or come with the Encore software or is it a separate program one must purchase?

Thanks

It's part of the Microsoft database family and it installs as part of the Encore Pro installation. What really gets installed is MSDE (Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine) which is a lightweight version of SQL Server. It's just a database engine to provide Encore ODBC access to the DB tables.

That's what I thought.
Thanks for the quick response.
