Re: Tap Pap - Issues with mouth breathing?
Ok first my disclaimer: I am a "bruxer" (grind my teeth in my sleep), so, I have had to wear an "appliance" (tooth guard) for years. So for me the TAP PAP was much more comfortable than a Mirage Quattro FF with the "appliance". But I WAS a mouth breather (hence the FF mask) so I was really concerned...

Re: TAP PAP & headaches?
Kathy, I too "brux" (teeth clenching and grinding) I have been using the TAP PAP (see Pugsy's thread) for several weeks now. One of the reasons that I went to the TAP PAP was that it replaced the "nightgard" anti-bruxing appliance that I had been using. The appliance had been causing sores occasiona...

Amen! SleepyHead is much betterquietmorning wrote:I have the Encore Version 2.0
Though I will caution you, SleepyHead is WORLDS better.
It is very kind of you to help a potential user, as that software Encore is not inexpensive.
Good on ya!

Re: Three Year Anniversary
I'm less than one month in. This form has been great helping me to understand my diagnosis.. and helping me with my treatment. I see you have the mirage quattro. Have you tried the Quattro FX? Wondering what the differences are between these masks... They look the same, just that yours has a headba...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
IT'S OFFICIAL My TAP PAP is now my number one mask! My Mirage Quattro is now my backup mask. Why? You ask. 1.) It replaces my brux guard and I don't get mouth sores from it rubbing on my mask. 2.) NO CHINSTRAP! Yes, you heard it correctly, I have learned to sleep with my mouth closed. 3.) I can slee...

Three Year Anniversary
Well, Time flies when you're having fun (or even when you aren't ) It seems like just last week the DME tech was setting me up with my CPAP system. However, the calendar says that was Saint Patrick's Day in 2010. Until then I had done some lurking here, but, soon after 3/17/2010 I got serious about ...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
TAP PAP Chinstrap "Quickie Eval" OK so I got the TAP PAP chinstrap and, as a chinstrap, I like it! Pros: 1.) Reasonable cost $22.95 from CPAP.com and it appears to be well made. 2.) Fairly comfortable and easy to fit. 3.) Provides a stable "mount" for the short hose (velcro loop on top for hose) Con...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
Night Two and Three on the TAP PAP Pugsy has been fielding the majority of the questions and I concur with her answers 1000% A few minor differences if you read my first night's summary, but, by and large Pugsy and I have the same set-ups (she has a few more options RE: machines). I tried no Chinstr...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
I just was looking at another thread RE: Mouth breathing elimination devices by a Dr. Sue in Hawaii. I was noticing that I seem to get a very similar result using this device. I.e. my tongue naturally rests just behind the front teeth/device and I get a "suction/seal" effect that stops the leakage. ...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
I can't believe there is no quick disconnect. This is almost a show-stopper for me, I really don't want to mess with taking it off in the middle of the night. I guess I could always disconnect at the back of the humidifier and walk with the hose. Or maybe this goes on and off so quickly it's not a ...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
I'm confused... Doesn't the short hose disconnect from the long hose in the same way the short hose of the Swift FX disconnects from the long hose? Yep, exactly the same. Any quick release thing is going to have to be at the short hose to long hose junction. I just can't imagine anything being in b...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
Amen! Sister, can I get a witness??? Seriously, Pugsy, like I said, "we are in agreement here!" I am just hoping that this mask will be my "salvation". I didn't even talk about the supine sleeping pains, but, I too am affected. That is one of the reasons that I have occasional "bad nights" due to "p...
