Hi---same question that I asked and I bouth a heated hose that I have used for over two weeks. To answer your question about heated hose help with a dry mouth---"depends". Mouth breathing for me is the cause of my morning dry mouth. The heated hose allows me to set the heated humidifier at a high setting and I enjoy breathing in the warm, moistened air a lot.
Dry mouth solution (for me) is to use a chip strap and this was best solved by purchasing the Cap-Pap/with chin strap.
viewtopic/t34809/Papcap-with-headgear.htmlHeated hose is a comfort item that I would recommend for those of us that have a heated humidifier and sleep in a room that becomes cooler (causing condensation to collect in the hose) as the night goes on.
Cap-Pap/with chip strap is the best solution (so far) for dry mouth which could be caused by mouth breathing.
For dry chapped lips I use Chap-stick overnight.
Also, look into the side effects of any medicatrion that you use as this could contribute to the dry mouth problem.
