Hey, you Mpls/St Paul folks

Postby secret agent girl on Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:30 pm

There have to be at least a few here, I figure... (Is there a way to search for members from a certain place? And how many people are registered on this site anyway?)

Tell me which DMEs are any good and which I should steer clear of, please.

I really like Merwin Home Medical in robbinsdale. I live in richfield, but it's worth the drive for me. They don't mark up their prices, and they have a bed for you to lay on with a cpap machine to try the masks on. They are very friendly and knowledgeable and they don't treat like a moron for wanting to manage my own therapy.
I would stay away from Allina Home Oxygen & Medical Equipment.

Hi,

I worked with the Minnesota Lung Center, which is part of the Fairview clinics. They were pretty competent, but extremely expensive. They did give me a great deal on a used machine. Since that time, I have bought everything on-line. I had my sleep studies at the Fairview Southdale cardiac center. They were excellent, easy to get in, and they offered me a good discount (47% off rack rate for up-front payment).

Anyone else in the Twin Cities willing to post here or private message me? I'm not sure if my ins. will cover the places mentioned so far, and I'd like to have more potential options lined up before I start down the phone call road...

The doctors here are pretty good, they also run a sleep lab and DME, seperate but colocated. I don't know much about their DME business though since I worked in one of their remote sleep labs.

Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.

So many cats, so few recipes.

I had my sleep study as Aspen Sleep Center. The DME was there the morning after to study to give me equipment. I just started and so far so good.
Is there and AWAKE group in the Twin Cities?
