Thanks to cpap.com's speedy shipping, the Mirage SoftGel arrived today. Some first impression, the cushion feels amazing! I've used the ComfortGel Nasal as my first mask. The SoftGel cushion feels more stable. It's firmer and more gel-like but it feels softer than the ComfortGel. I'm a bit disappointed that the flap isn't any bigger. That's my only complaint with the Activa. The cushion opening is small for a large. The clip and cushion is interchangeable with the Activa and of course, the Activa LT. If you have either the Activa or Activa LT, you could just buy the SoftGel cushion to try this out. The headgear is nice, much better than the one for the Activa.

I can't wait to try it out tonight. I will report back tomorrow!

First night down....where has this mask been all my life!

Seriously, this mask is really nice. The cushion is soft and seals very well. I had a leak rate of 0.00L/s. It's extremely quiet and the airflow out is nice a soft. I was able to sleep facing my wife. The frame is small so side sleeping is not a problem. The pillow does not disrupt the seal. I woke up this morning without the usual headache and fog. The bridge of my nose is red but it's the type that fades after an hour. For me, this is shaping up to be a keeper.

If you've been unhappy with the ComfortGel or any other nasal, I would suggest giving this a try.

Mark...that's good news! Thanks for the update. I love my nasal pillows...but when I have a cold...I need another mask...might give the SoftgGel a whirl.

I ordered this and hope to receive it next week. I'm not due for a new mask until December so I just ordered the cushions.

Keep us posted on what you think of it. I'm especially interested in the bridge of the nose issue. Thanks!

Like with other Resmed masks, the redness dissipated after an hour or so. I feel pretty good today and that's without having to use the EPR. I'm gonna up my pressure just a little tonight.

Overall, I'm really thrilled with the comfort and results from the first night!

How the is head gear different than the Activia?

To me, it looks like a like the same head gear (and frame) on the Activia LT.

Let me clarify. It's better than the headgear for the original Activa.

I have an Activa LT and would like to try the softgel version, but I can't see that CPAP.com has the gel cushion for sale. They just seem to offer the silicone cushion and clip. Am I missing Something?

You're right. It was there on Thursday. Not sure why they pulled it.

I have an Activa LT and will be trying the softgel cushion on that frame tonight.I placed my order online Friday and have tracked that will come in the mail box today.I know I sure like the Activa LT that I use now.Leaks are no problem,noise is minimal and it is comfortable.

Got my Mirage Softgel from CPAP.com on Saturday. Wow. Mask #7. This one is a keeper. Hardly know it there, just have this darn hose thing........

What a hassle getting my Dr. to give a scrpt for it. I paid the $99.00 rather than wait another 2 months for yet another mask. Worth every penny. I'll get a second one in two months via BXBS.

I wore a chin strap to keep my big mouth shut. They both worked together nicely.

Rescan is showing that this one is a keeper too!

Now if and when the SoftGel will be available in a size small. Resmed delayed the small Activa LT for months and it took months after that until cpap.com stocked it on its website.
Very happy to see cpap.com started carrying the size small recently one week after a customer service rep told me the Activa LT in size small was not available.
Plus now they carry replacement seals in a small which the company I bought the whole mask from in June still does not.
One good thing of manufactures/suppliers delaying a certain size product is being able to read reviews from others before being tempted to buy. So I guess being one of the minority with a small nose helps.

Good to hear Mark, Can i ask how did you size up for this mask?

Did you use the Resmed templates or assume as size based on another resmed mask etc?

So a bit of a follow up:

I still really like this mask. I'm finding that I can get away with a lower pressure. Gone are the headaches and waking up feeling foggy. The numbers are good. Last night, I had an AHI of 2.5 with an AI of .1.

The cushion is different from other Resmed masks. It seals out of cushion contact whereas other Resmed masks tend to float. The cushion flap is pretty minimal with the SoftGel. Since the gel is soft, it's quite comfortable. The gel is very different from the ComfortGel cushion. It's a molded gel piece whereas the ComfortGel seems like a sack filled with Gel that has taken a shape. The downside is that it gets a little hot and I had some issues last night with air blowing into my eyes. I will likely address this with a Remzzzs gasket. Another downside is that after washing the flap retains water.

The cushion flap does tend to redden the bridge of my nose. It's lasting a little longer today. This may be my face adjusting to it and/or the flap needing to soften with use. I don't feel much pressure on the bridge when I sleep. Hopefully, this will pass. I'm thinking the Remzzzs barrier may also help with this.
