Lori,

I wake up every morning and thank the Lord for such a wonderful woman. She is my best friend, constant companion, and after 23 years we still carry on like love-sick teenagers! When you have a supportive spouse, who really wants you to succeed, you're really ahead, not just in overcoming trials(like OSA) but also in life. I don't know how those without a support system can make it.
I will lie down and sleep in peace Ps 4:8

I had a kind of bad night last night. My new DreamFit came apart about 3AM and woke me up. I spent a few minutes putting it back together....no biggie, but now it's got me concerned....only to discover that my sinuses had closed up. I tried for another 15 minutes to get back to sleep, but no luck. At about 4 AM I decided to switch to my UltraMirage FF mask. I could breathe, but about 10 minutes later, I developed a tickle in the back of my throat and started coughing. I fought that for another 20 minutes or so and then got up and took a light dose of cough syrup. I might add here that cough syrup and I most certainly do NOT get along! I managed to fall back to sleep about 4:30, then up at 5:15 from the alarm. grrrrrr. I got up, had coffee, got showered, shaved and dressed and off to work thinking "I really shouldn't go in today." I was still feeling the effects of a poor night's sleep and the cough syrup.

I got to work, fired up my computer, worked for about 30 minutes and then fell asleep. I have a new "across the cubicle hall" neighbor who was visiting with one of the clerical folks and I could vaguely hear them snickering about me snoozing. *sigh* I tried to come up with some way to let them know about OSA. After falling asleep another couple of times (cough syrup really kicks my a$$, in case you couldn't tell) I did a Google on obstructive sleep apnea, found a good site that explained it and then asked if I could send her a link. She said ok, I did, she read it and we had a nice long discussion about OSA and treatment and side-effects of when CPAP didn't work so good.....like last night for me.

So, I think I managed to turn her thoughts of "Gosh, I guess he had a really late, rough night last night." to a little education time. I'm sure word will get around to the co-worker and that'll explain a few things that they've observed about me at work. Being described as lazy? Hey, I resemble that remark today!!!

Needless to say, I plan to get home and get to bed very early tonight.

This therapy WORKS!!! (except when it don't! LOL)
