Fitted for new mask

Post by Turfeye » Wed Sep 14, 2005 12:11 pm

Just wanted to give a tip of my hat to Titrator and Nodding Off for suggesting the activa mask. I went to the medical supply store today and tried one on, hooked up to CPAP set to my pressure. Just sitting in the office I felt more comfortable. I think one of the problems with the breeze mask was that the constant air flow directly into my nostrils was too irritating, causing me to wake up after only a short amount of sleep. I'm optimistic the activa will prove to be much better for me.
Will keep everyone posted on how things good. Thanks again for all your words of encouragement.

Turfeye,

You won't regret it, IMHO it is the most successful mask out there for new cpapeers. Good Luck and let us know how it works for you.

I tried the Activa for the first time last night. i do like it, but, it seemed a bit more noisy than the 407 and the Swift that I have tried. The noise was the air blowing out where the hose connected to the mask. Does yours make this sound?
Is this normal?
thanks,

peg

If your laying into the pillow it will make noise, but free frfom any blocks, it should not make any noise. Remove the hose from the mask at this juncture and reattch and see if it continues. Make sure it is snapped all the way on.
