dry mouth

Post by Barnaby » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:00 pm

I was away for a week and still took my cpap on the ship. ˆit has been 5 months that I have been through this. I am ready to resign myself to a life of continuing dry mouth and throat when i awake.
I have tried the activa full mask/swift nasal pillows/tape over the mouth/two kinds of chin straps and not ONE morning do i feel normal mouth and throat. its like sand paper.. Sleepless and Rested have made interesting suggestions which I have tried. What is left ?
I am always sneezing and blowing my nose as if i have a cold. Any ideas- PLEASE!!!! I am using the s7with the heated humidifier at all numbers.

I know what the dry mouth feeling is but to have to endure it every single day?! If the long-timers/pros gave you suggestions and those didn't work for you, I can't think of anything to add other than to ask your doctor what can be done to soothe the throat and/or prevent the dryness. Training yourself to keep you mouth closed may not be possible for you either. Have you tried other full face masks? I wish I could help with more concrete suggestions but I don't have any. You have my support though! Please keep going with your treatment. I read somebody's post on this board that it took them a year of tweaking and trying different things before they got it really right. I myself am on the fourth month of trying to get relief. Not easy, but do keep at it and keep asking for help. Somewhere, someone will have the answer at the right time.
