How Bad is 10.9?

Post by Sleepy Boy » Mon Apr 20, 2009 8:25 am

My machine lists a 7 day & a 30 day AHI average. My 7 day average is 10.9 My LPM on my mask is 43-45, but I'm only in the 30's with that. I can't seem to get my AHI's down to that 0 # that everyone talks. Iv'e fiddled with the mask, and don't feel any leaks untill morning sometimes. So, how bad is the 10.9? Or is it that bad?
Thanks, Larry...

Well, it's not "good". Your therapy is supposed to get your AHI below 5.0.
Don't use the "averages".......clear your data out each morning after you've written it down so you'll only be looking at each night's numbers in the morning. Your older averages are going to skew your actual numbers.

What's your pressure? You might want to put that in your profile so we won't have to keep asking.
It would appear that you need a little more of it.
Are you using your prescribed pressure or have you been "tweaking"?

Hi Den: My pressure is 13 and last week I moved it to 13.5 If I reset my machine it each day, and look at the AHI, is that the # I'm trying to lower? Thanks...

Yes it is.
Do you already know how to reset the LCD data.....?

Do you have a copy of your sleep study?

Yes, you & LinKC told me how to get into my machine to see the data. No, I don't have a copy of my sleep test. I knew nothing about any of this till I found this web site, and started getting some help. I did mention it once to my DME, but they seemed to know less about it than I did. I get a new mask in May-and I will be getting some answers from them-or going elswhere for my equipment. I'm thankful for the help. Larry..

I would say to keep moving your pressure up (gradually) and see what happens. If the AHI gets better, you know you're going in the right direction.
Sleeping position and bed pillows can make a lot of difference, too.
