REMSTAR AUTO HUMIDIFIER PROBLEM

Post by morsej » Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:56 pm

I have a remstar auto machine with integrated humidifier. This is my second machine of this make and I am not able to get enough humidity even on the highest setting of 5. Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Morsej

What makes you think you're not getting enough humidity?
Do you use a nasal mask?

Nasal pillows. I have another machine a fischer paykal with no problems. With my remstar auto my nasal passages are dry in less than 1 hour of use even on the highest setting.

Are you positive you're not leaking air out of your mouth? Ever wake up with a dry mouth?

Other than the first couple of nights when I started therapy, I've never used heated humidity......just "passover".

tank does well with humidity compared to the m series

my suggestion, besides of course Den's suggestion about checking for mouth leaks, is to consider obtaining a stand alone humidifier and use it either alone or in series and see if that helps
