Your nasal passages closing up could be a humidity issue. Either too much or too little.

I tried all levels of humidification and nasal rinses and drugs. I get stuffy when I lay down, but it clears up later in the night. A FF mask was a godsend for me.

Agreed. I also find prescription nasal steroids like Nasonex to helpful, especially during allergy season.

i have tried to run on the lowest humidity setting any thing higher and it makes it worse...question if I want to switch to a full face mask does your doctor have to approve it my 30 days has run out on my nasal mask so I guess I have to pay out of the pocket for a full face mask???...any suggestions on a good full face mask...and does your machine have to be recalibrated if you change masks????

I am not able to use a conventional full face mask, but I am able to use the Hybrid mask by Respcare, it is very comfortable, does not have anything to hurt the bridge of my nose, and does not make me feel so claustrohobic as a FF mask does, but yet provides the same benefits. I tend to rotate between this and the Swift LT depending on if I am stopped up or not. And yes you will have to pay for it out of pocket.

Hello, if you do end up going with the Hybrid here is a link to the best price I could find. That is where I got mine and they were very fast on shipping.

Kantou,

You could also try increasing your humidity, just to see if that solves your problem. Also, lots of people here have used nasal rinses or even saline spray to reduce congestion. You want to be careful with prescription sprays, some of them have bad rebound effects or should only be used for a couple of days. If you get a Resmed FFM, the Ultra Mirage FFM, then you will need to go into the mask selection menu and select that choice. Pick Standard if you get anything that is not on the menu. If you don't then it will skew your leak data. Good Luck!
