I had that a couple of months ago, about drove me insane,it went on for weeks. Couldn't hear, dizzy half the time, it SUCKED. I took Mucinex D for several days, it doesn't give me any "icky" effects, other than the looks the pharmacy tech gives you as you sign your life away to get it....I mean c'mon, I am NOT going to make meth out of one box of tablets....<sigh>....The Mucinex helped dry me out, and opened up the tubes....I was in bed one night watching Leno, certainly couldn't hear him worth crap, the suddenly, BAM, I could hear and the ears cleared. I almost cried.

Any possibility its not an infection but just a wax build up?

When you said you used drops, did you mean the kind meant to dissolve earwax?

I don't ever have build up, but my brother and mother do. If they let it go long enough drops aren't enough. They occasionally have to get their ears flushed out at the doctors with what they describe as a big syringe. What comes out is often very solid. Its possible your infection(s) contributed to the build up and has made you sensitive to it.

Avoid candling. I understand it does nothing but give you a small risk of having something hot fall into your ear and possibly damage your eardrum.

Vertigo isn't on the table. I'm doing much better, thanks.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Much better today. I decided to quit taking the cough medicine. I think it was contributing to the dizziness.
