Encore Pro Question

Post by ycartf » Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:34 pm

Encore Pro displays some of the data for the whole week (Sunday-Saturday) but does not give a "daily breakdown" for Saturdays or Sundays. This also makes Encore Pro Analyzer (which I LOVE!!!! thanks Skinner) not show bar-graph data for those two days. Is there something I have set wrong?

Thanks,

Tracy

Sounds like you may have run into the infamous "M" series firmware lost days. The "M" series internal program has a problem with dates. About once a month I will simply skip two days of data and then pick up like nothing happened. I save the files and reformat (erase) the card every Saturday (or seven sessions) and have not skipped any days in over a year. If I don't do this it would loose 2 days about once a month. Respirionics generally has denied that this could happen and has not fixed the bug in the firmware even in the newer versions.

Well I have only been doing data for the last three weeks myself, and each week it is the same thing:

No Saturday or Sunday "Sleep Therapy Daily Details" ...

The patient compliance screen says only "Saturday" and "Sunday" for them but has the date on the other five days ...

No bar graph data on Analyzer for: H (usage), E, A, H, FL, S, AHI, OAI, HI, FLI, SI, AA

(scratches head)

Thanks,

Tracy

Do you sleep longer on weekends? That seems to be when I had the lost data -- perhaps running out of space???. There have been *many* posts on this subject and as I recall, the consensus was that it is a firmware problem which therefore means it likely won't be fixed on existing machines. Some people have gotten around it by regularly erasing their Smartcards. I ultimately decided that was too much of a hassle (when I was using my Respironics M-Series) and just decided to live with the missing data.

I just "live with it", too...like Mindy. On the infrequent times it's happened to me, it does seem to be Sat, Sun data that is most likely to be missing.

Well evidently I am going to have to learn to live with it, but it is no case of data filling up on the card. I swap cards with him on Saturday, so Saturday and Sunday nights are the first on his card and I get the lack I described above, same thing with my card at the house....shrugs shoulders.

Thanks,

Tracy

How often do you download the data in your card to the pc? .... remember that the data card only hold the last 3 (or 4) days of detailed data... anything else is just summary data.

2 Cards is certainly "THE WAY" to go. If you are still having troubles it may be something in your daily routine you may not be aware of.

If you want to figure it out we'll have to get more info from you.
Let's start with - do you use the machine to dry your hose?
And what version of Encore Pro?

I do not use the machine to dry my hose and I am using version 1.8.49

It holds more than three or four days of advanced data Mikosiko, seven (for sure) I have experienced

I just wondered why the data for Sat/Sun would be treated any differently, but I can get used to it. It's just that especially for myself, Saturday and Sunday may be my only days sleeping at home (for 4 days) when I work at the Fire Department Friday then Monday. Tha gives me zero data for four days straight. I was curious about whether me selecting "homecare provider" when I made up a company name for Encore Pro made any difference. Sorry to bug everybody with this, but I didn't understand it.

Thanks

Sorry I don't understand the " zero data for four days straight" ?? You did say 2 cards, right?

Can you post any of the Encore data? Like the bar graphs of how long you use the machine?

Tell us anything about your daily routine?

I am signing off for the nite but I have a couple post on here about what consitutes a session, that would be helpful for you to understand why what is happening.

Tracy, even though you swap cards, if you haven't erased the card the data gets added on to everything else. Do you tend to sleep more than 8 hours when you are home? The card doesn't have a "beginning" as such - unless one erases the card. If not erased (which I don't bother with), I believe the data "wraps around" - or, at least, is supposed to!

We have all been guessing based on the card "behaviors" we have seen so there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. No one has been able to "get the real goods", so to speak.

Mindy
