Remstar Pro Help!
Remstar Pro Help!
After setting the machine to show leaks and ahi, I realized that the averages were weird.
Decided to follow the instructions to set Therapy Data to zero and read the info in the morning.
"
To reset LCD Therapy data (does NOT erase any data from SmartCard):
1. Hold down the (<-) (->) buttons while plugging in the power on the back,
wait for 2 beeps or 5 seconds, release buttons.
2. Press the (->) key and navigate to Therapy screen.
3. Press and HOLD down the (-) minus key for 5 seconds and/or until therapy data is reset to Zero.
4. Press the (->) key to scroll back to main menu, press (+) key to enter Setup or
On/Off button to exit."
It erased the ahi, leak, daily usage, total usage, blower hours.
This morning, the only new data is the screen with usage hours and sessions (1)
Everything else still reads zero.
I REALLY hope there's an easy answer to this!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like it's the "quirk" of the M Series to drop a couple of nights' data.....this may occur again tomorrow morning.
For whatever reason, the detailed data is not recorded, but the compliance data is. (on the card, too)
Respironics has been told about it for over 2 years, but apparently hasn't done anything about it.

Hey Wolfman-
That's SORT of what I suspected.
So do I leave it and wait for numbers tomorrow?
I'm sort of semi-freaked (I'm rational and calm and I know the data's on the card - cause you told me so - and I have faith that the pressure is still accurate, but I HATE when things don't happen the way I expect them to.)

Re: Remstar Pro Help!
Yeah.....sounds like the "two nights off" problem that the M Series has exhibited since they came out. I don't know if anybody has ever been able to pinpoint the exact cause.....some suspect it's the number of hours or sessions that messes it up. In any case, hang in there for a couple more nights and see if the detailed data comes back.....it should.

Re: Remstar Pro Help!
I just read a 2007 thread where someone said that their data would only show up after 12 hours.
But I remember a comment somewhere that one needs to check the data before noon.
Oh, so confusing.
Gonna go have a cup of tea and remind myself that it's not a big deal...

Oh, the numbers were there when I checked just now.
AHI 1.8, leak 28.9 (which I still don't understand, since Headrest at 16 cm is 30.5)
Guess the machine just needed me to have a cup of tea.
How thoughtful of it.
Thanks again Den - you got me through a tough spot.

Re: Remstar Pro Help!
I think the machine needs the last session to end before it will update any results. It doesn't know if you are done yet but is just my guess. So that would mean at least 59 minutes have to elapse since it was turned OFF? Does that sound about right?

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Both numbers look great to me, Shari.momadams wrote:Oh, the numbers were there when I checked just now.

As for the leak rate not matching exactly, that's soooo close it's an absolutely insignificant difference, imho. Decimal points of difference in leak rate between the two wouldn't even catch my eye, much less worry me at all. A few whole cms one way or the other wouldn't concern me either, for that matter.
I don't think any of the numbers reported by any of our CPAP machines are expected to be dead-on accurate. Nor the manufacturers mask published leak rates, either -- not to every tenth of a percent at every pressure.
You're getting a wonderfully low AHI and wonderfully low leak rate. You can be happy as a clam!

But how do we know clams are happy?
