'Twas a night of poor sleeping,
(I've had those of late.)
Not a creature was stirring
except me (which I hate).
The heated hose was hung on my bedpost with care
in hopes that my apnea soon would not be there.
When next to my head there rose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
And what to my wondering eyes was in store
but my 420E upside down on the floor.
Water was pouring out all over the place
as the mask was being tugged off of my face.
"Oh golly! Gosh Darn it!"
I exclaimed quite perplexed.
"How on earth did this happen?"
I wondered, quite vexed.
So I unplugged tho whole mess from my power strip
and sopped up humidifier water from whence it did flip.
I then reached for my REMstar
(thank god it was there)
and got it set up post-haste
soon to be pumping air.
(Hadn't used my auto with CFlex in quite a while,
fortunately autos never go out of style.)
In short order I was hooked up
and back in my gear
with a different machine;
I'm so glad it was here!
Now I must exclaim as I drift off at night,
"If you can get a spare auto,
it's worth it, alright!"

That was FANTASTIC!!! But I don't believe you were that "polite" in the middle of the night with a growing puddle. I sure would have used a few different "choice" words.neversleeps wrote: "Oh golly! Gosh Darn it!"

Did you sleep any better after switching machines???

Oh you are sooooo right. The words I used would not be printable!!yawn wrote:...But I don't believe you were that "polite" in the middle of the night with a growing puddle. I sure would have used a few different "choice" words.
Actually, I normally sleep great with both machines. Its just that lately I've been finding it hard to turn off my mind. Between that and hotflashes, sleep eludes me once again.yawn wrote:Did you sleep any better after switching machines???
I resemble that remark!!WAFlowers wrote:..."Its great that all y'all are clear-headed enough to be writing poetry. Even if it is bad."
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to wait a couple days b4 I try to use it again. I'm afraid it's going to be wrecked...wading thru the muck! wrote:...I bought a package of velcro straps and secured my hose midway to a hook on the wall next to my headboard. It never happened again.
another good reason to keep the machine on the floor.......
Or stock up on velcro.....

The machine should be OK unless water got into the guts of the cpap. Even if id did, it is probably not wrecked but may not last as long as it would have other wise.Neversleeps wrote: I'm going to wait a couple days b4 I try to use it again. I'm afraid it's going to be wrecked...
Luckily for me, the water in my humidifier just ended up on the floor.
