What is causing the Swift lines, the outline of the stitching or the edge of the neoprene? I was trying to pad the inside of the strap and didn't pay much attention to the edges of the straps. Am I making sense?

I believe it is the edges of the neoprene, but I haven't paid enough attention to be certain. The lines fade from my face so quickly it isn't really an issue.

In my case what was "causing" the Nike Swoosh lines on my face when I used the swift was my "chipmunk" cheeks. For those of you with a more slender smile I bet the swift would not leave a mark.

Sincerely,

For the life of me I can't MAKE the Swift leave a swoosh mark on my face and I too have fat cheeks. It just is the best interface for me I have found.

I agree R&R....the Swift is the best. I can deal with the lines...I'm getting close to eliminating them. I'm glad you don't have to deal with them

Wading thru the Muck!

I have slender cheeks and bony cheekbones and have had nothing but swoosh lines since I've used the Swift, barring a fix last night. Even went and bought the expensive Tempur Pedic pillow. And although I'm still glad I did, it didn't stop the lines from occurring. Had the tube up, down. Tried adjusting the straps so many ways, and so loose that the barrel didn't even stay under my nose (had to fix that). I finally did find a fix last night. Hope it works again tonight. Posted the fix on a thread called Cure for Swoosh Lines this morning.

So don't blame those smushy cheeks of yours (your mother probably used to bite them when you were a baby and all your aunts pinched them). They aren't necessarily the culprit.

I say we all corner Rock & Roll and insist he share his secret with us...R&R, are you talking??? I mean the REAL reason you don't get Swift lines!!!

Sleepless,

I honestly don't know. I am one of the brave ones that post my picture to my avatar, I am somewhat chubby cheeked, I sleep on my sides, and I have never had a swoosh from the Swift. With the activa, I will have a mark from the headpiece but it is gone by the time I get my first taste of caffeine in the morning. Maybe as a women your skin is thinner and softer than mine. I have tried to get the Swift to do this to me so I can respond to your pleas but I can't get it too. Sorry

Oh, R&R, no! Don't try to get the Swift to bite you!!! And your cheeks don't look at all pudgy, rather just the opposite.
You must just have the perfect strap adjustment or your skin doesn't react to impressions left. One of the posters, Simply Sue, said she believes it's actually edema, rather than indentation. We are not sure what to think anymore, actually. I know when I used to use my Activa exclusively, I would have such horrible forehead indents in the morning from those two rubbers pieces and they didn't just go away quickly. So my skin seems to be a bit more "impressionable" than yours.
Look, if you find an interface that works for you, you don't give it up because it has some other flaw unrelated to breathing unless it's one that is just intolerable. I don't find the marks intolerable, just unpleasant. And if my fix works for me again tonight, then this will be a moot point, I will be happy to conclude.
