Resmed auto set II data questions

Post by caffeine please » Wed Dec 31, 2008 11:15 am

Hello. What is the typical frequency protocol for RT's through the DME to meet with patients to review data to determine compliance? I was told the RT will meet with me probably at the end of the 1st 30 days and then I am wondering how many times and how often after.

Also, I noticed one of my settings is : SW: SX4800100. And the arrow is under the second zero? What does all of that mean?
And there appear to be 2 levels of menus on the machine. 1 for the clinician and one other, is that correct?

The SW number is the machine's software version code, some of the others are hardware version codes, not settings that might be changed.

Best not to alter settings on the clinician menu if you just started treatment, your clinician may object, or you may make treatment less effective if you don't understand what the settings mean. Often the clinician will not even tell you how to access the clinician menus.

Someone in the US can better advise you on follow-up visits. I started treatment with a private clinic and initially made visits as needed until I was happy everything was sorted. Now I get once a year visits to a state-funded hospital, but still would call and ask for a visit if I needed one more often.

Its the version number for the firmware (embedded software) in the S8 blower unit. Its displayed just for information, there's nothing about it you can chnage.

There's a normal user menu, which generally only allows changing a few selected operational parameters and displaying of data, and there's a Clinicians menu which allows changing pretty much anything that is programmable in the field (Including turning on/off whether some parameters can be changed via the user menu).

Cheers,

Bill

Rest assured you can NOT change anything or alter your therapy settings in the advanced/detailed patient menu that is access to the Efficacy Data and Usage menus.

HOWEVER, if you insist on going into the Clinicians Menu BE SURE to have a pen and paper handy the first time you go thru it and WRITE DOWN everything that appears on EACH screen so that if you do accidentally (or intentionally) change any of your therapy settings you will KNOW what the CORRECT settings SHOULD be.

Happy New Year!!
