mouth tape alone a partial fix for apnea?

Post by kenrose » Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:50 am

I am a mouth taper (that sounds weird!) woke, up in the middle of night for bathroom break and manged to wake up the next morning without having put the mask back on. I noticed that snoring with my mouth closed is difficult and while with mouth open I can really snore with the best of them with mouth taped shut its greatly reduced. I had weird dreams which indicate some type of rem sleep. any thoughts?

Wow, caqn't imagine sleeping gagged like that. While taping the mouth might keep you from snoring openly, I don't see how without having continuous air you are helping your apnea any. IMHO I would be nervous about doing this
