There can be benefits to anything if you look hard enough.
Has anyone been paying attention to the apnea related stocks in the stock market?
Check out rmd and resp and tyc.
This is one of the few benefits I have had from having OSA.
For fun, check out the charts and see how you would have done if you had bought in when you were dx with OSA.
There is probably still a great upside to these stocks.
OSA pays off (Stock, that is)
Thanks Tom.
I felt this industry was exploding, but didn't think about the financial/stock side of things.
Good info.
Thanks again,
Den

Wow, if I only had $1,000 free to throw into Respironics... They're doing better than any of the mutual funds in my 401k.

What a great thread. Thanks for starting it, tomjax.
When I had a Medtronic pacemaker implanted 5 years ago I was so impressed with their technology & excellent follow-up, I bought a few shares (MDT). I'm still impressed with both the pacemaker & the company. They both take a lickin', but keep on tickin'!
Anyone investing in stocks in this segment, though, needs to be aware that these companies are extremely susceptible to the often ridiculous lawsuits brought by the plaintiff lawyer crowd. They're constantly trolling for "victims" afflicted with real or imagined problems caused by one of these companies' products. If the plaintiff lawyers can create a class action lawsuit, easier now with the multi-nation nature of most of the companies, huge damage awards (or out-of-court settlements) can have real impact on stock values, so anyone investing in these stocks should be prepared for the potential of a real roller coaster ride.
And of course as always the caveat:
