No, DSM, unfortunately you're right. It's currently undergoing clinical trials in the US & Germany.
Do a search ("Search" button in the toolbar at the top of this page) for CS2 & you should find several references to the ResMed AutoSet CS.2 from a number of different topics on this forum.
Consensus seems to be it'll be at least 6 months before it's available in the US, but with FDA approval, it's anyone's guess.
It's available in Canada (& Australia, UK, Europe & virtually the rest of the world) & I think it might be important enough for what ails me that I'm trying to find out if my insurance would cover it & how I might be able to buy it in Canada.

I do not think you would have any trouble purchasing that ResMed machine in Canada, if you had a prescription. With the money exchange rate it might be close to the cost of your local dme based on my experience with the dme where my father lives, however the price would not be competitive to those of cpap.com. My ResMed Spirit was the same price in U.S. dollars at a dme in Ohio as it was here in Canada in Canadian dollars(it really shocked me). At cpap.com it was a 40% savings for me after the exchange rate was applied and my insurance company reimbursed me for it. One thing to consider is that you may not have a warranty in the U.S., should you need it. You would have to deal with the Canadian supplier, since it is not approved in the U.S.

Thanks, Capt. That's a good point. Toronto is only about a 6 hour drive from me so hopefully that would be an issue I could deal with. Of course with FedEx or UPS, guess I could just send it back to them if need be.
I also hadn't thought about the exchange rate - another good point. On another post, WillSucceed, who lives in Canada, said the Canadian ResMed rep. told him the machine will be BIG bucks, but he didn't have an actual quote. Hopefully between insurance & the exchange rate, it'll be doable. I guess I could just wait & buy it from CPAP.com when it becomes available here, but if it'll provide the therapy I need, sure hate to have to wait.
Thanks for your input.

Seems that I've also read (a poster nicknamed "HH" on the TAS board) that ResMed has a special team to work with (or maybe instead of?) the DMEs in setting up a CS 2. They won't be leaving the "set up" to just anyone from the DME (home medical supplies store) as happens with cpap, autopap and bi-level (even the "timed" bi-levels.)
I was glad to read that, since it seems that too many DME's and their RT's are rather clueless about getting ResMed's VPAP III (and even more so, the VPAP III ST) set up so it isn't fighting the user's breathing. It's rather disconcerting to read (as we have more than once) about DME employees who had no idea there was such a thing as "IPAP max/min" and "Rise Time" on VPAP III bi-level machines. Can you imagine them trying to get a machine as sophisticated as a CS 2 going right? Whew.
