Who needs a card reader?

Post by bucko » Sun Nov 02, 2008 6:12 pm

Are there people out there who can't find the Encore Pro reader? Am I the only one who can't find it?? They must be old and obsolete in the PC world now. I am a PC addict to put it mildly. Electronics is my main hobby. If I don't have it.... you don't need it so to speak. That being said, this card reader must be vapor ware!

I live in China now, an hour away from Hong Kong or Bangkok. Computer centers of the universe. Next month I'll be in Bangkok to look for the illusive DT 3500 card reader. BUT, I would like to get one NOW so I can tell if my new CPAP is really going to work out or not. Does ANYONE have a known, verified source to buy this card reader? Hours on the internet has yielded NOTHING!

IF I find this reader in Bangkok or HK......... who wants one? Anybody? How many should I buy? I'm sure they will be as cheap as you can get whatever that price may be. Please perticipate in this thread and lets help each other out.

Why not just order one from the web?

I am not sure if that site actually sells the card reader or if they are the manufacturer. I couldn't find anywhere on the site where to place an order.

Two-Factors used to provide consumers with a cost effective reader, but alas they no longer have them available to my knowledge. They are located in China so you might try locating them and see if you have any luck.

Sure is.

I know that I was lucky and was able to get my card readers from them before they ended up not stocking them.

It is a shame as they were very affordable and even coming from overseas had a reasonable turn around time as far as you receiving them.

Two Factors is O-U-T of Business had been for months, this has been posted many times in many threads. Now it can be had at
http://www.securetech-corp.com/mako_dt.html for about $50, and at other online dealers for a higher price. Jim

hey why not just give that machine to your buddies and have them make a clone of it with a USB port, then the data losing SmartCard wouldn't be needed

But you might try Mako Technologies in Taiwan.

Thanks for all the feedback. I did go to securetech and ordered one to be shipped to me in China. According to their website, they even pay shipping! Anyway I hope to see it arrive here in 10 days (I'm guessing). They charge $49 for t there. I will still look for a source over here and if I find one, I'll post it if anyone else needs one.
