I used to work at one of the biggest cancer hospitals in the US and there would be groups of doctors in their white coats standing outside in the rain having a quick cigarette.Paul56 wrote:Hey, I drive by hospitals all the time where I see patients hanging around outside in their gowns with an IV drip stand on wheels in tow and a cigarette in another hand. I understand well the addiction some have with smoking... but that picture is just so wrong on so many levels.

In a way, I agree with you, Billy. I'd use the contraption for every sleeping moment even if I never saw a single byte of data from it. I did use one that way my first several months, and didn't even know what pressure it was set at (a borrowed old dinosaur of a machine.) I'd have kept on using it, had I not been a nosy type who does kind'a want to look at data about my own treatment and wanted a more informative type of machine. If a person is satisfied with their treatment and not interested in looking at data, there's nothing wrong with that at all.Billy6 wrote:I guess I don't see what the big deal is over card this, card that, report this, report that, compliance this and compliance that. I realize that I'm stuck having to climb into this contraption each night for a long time, so I don't bother with it. Despite its incovenience, at least I dont wake up several times during the night gasping for air.

True, and some of us (and probably most of us on this forum!) like to take a pro-active approach to our health care. I'm new, and I like to see how I'm doing with this cpap stuff on a daily basis. Seeing the data encourages me, especially since I'm still at the stage of adjusting to the therapy but not yet seeing a whole lot of extra day-time energy. (But I've learned from this forum to be patient!) I've also seen that my ahi numbers have gone down quite a bit since I've switched from a full face mask to a nasal pillow mask. I probably wouldn't have guessed that had I not seen the data.rested gal wrote:In a way, I agree with you, Billy.
