High pressure

Post by Natlove » Sun Oct 19, 2008 12:04 am

Hello All,
I was recently diagnosed, after doing my research I found that my RX noted that my level is 16 ???( please forgive my vocabulary) I think that is the pressure/force the air blows at. Is that extremely high?? I have no lung problems. Should I be worried??

16 CMs as a cpap titration is probably well higher than the average.

But it is only to worry about if you can't tolerate it. That can be from leaking masks, discomfort at breathing out against that pressure etc:.

The masks today are pretty good & you may want to explore best options on that topic 1st. Also most machines today offer some form of
exhale relief the 2 dominant choices are Respironics with C-Flex/A-Flex & Resmed with EPR.

Another alternative is to go with a bilevel machine (e.g. Bipap or Vpap).

Good luck
